View Full Version : split personalities?

So, having nothing better to do, i was looking at ip's on the forum here and was noticing that there are a few people here who have more than one ID.

What's even funnier is when they reply to themselves all seriously.

That is just weird guys.
Actually I notice this anomoly all over the web, where people will have two or more id's in a discussion or usenet group and will go on and on to themselves as if they have any hope of convincing peeps of something.

Anyway, for this particular board, this shows a remarkable lack of Kungfu and respect for the intelligence of others.

As a kungfu person, you likely don't have any problem walking through pretty much any door and stating who you are and why you're there.

Of course there are the chain yankers and puff heads, but those guys never had it and until much later, they likely never will.

It's a crying shame to see these things at times.

Anonymity has it's purpose, but honestly fellas...
It's not difficult to tell who's for real and whos not on the net.

Find it in yourself to express your kungfu. How can you be true to yourself if you can't be honest with others?

You cannot.

food for thought
cheers

So this one day a young Helio Gracie was driving by downtown Rio on his Rolls-Royce car, watching the people, the cars, the birds, the trees and the sidewalk as he drove by.
Eyes on the road and both hands upon the wheel, the rises his left eyebrow, ponders, and says: "We will come to find... that we are all one mind."

Maybe a little, some of the stuff is from me, other is from various sources. This one was totally based on a Tool song :D

My signature says "Il messaggero non è importante" thats from Stigmata and means "The messeger is not important".
Doesnt matter the ip, its what message is being delivered thats important.

Its true. Only 1 mma minded person actually cares enough about this forum to post here.

but there is strength in numbers.

Well, I only have one ID here and this was kinda freaky when I read it.

It made me think of like someone who is dating twins or triplets or more-lets and thinks they are all the same person...except in reverse. :D

Kung Lek.

Install a new rule:

1 account per person, and zap the other ones.
:D

I know a few people that added accounts as they wanted a new screenname but have discontinued using the old ones.

Unfortunately this type of Board lacks a badly needed "Delete ID" function.

So maybe deleting accounts that have not been used in x-months might be nice too.

Cheers.

Actually I think I probably have the following due to password problems a long time ago:

yenhui, yen_hui, yen_hoi

On cyberkwoon I have like 16 variations of yenhoi.

also hendrix on the wc board must forget his password alot, because he almost has a new handle everyday.

Thats not exactly news, cheif. How about you give us some examples of the worst offenders.

This should be interesting.

02-20-2003, 09:22 PM
actually you forget one possibility.

Some people(s) work behind a larger organisation or structure which makes their source IP look like its a single source. THis is especially true since I just spotted another guy here whow as wearing a KF t-shirt, I didnt ask if he posts here. But no doubt due to the size of this shop using two giant proxies (some 17k worldwide) you gonna get some major correlations....

Except maybe you already knew that :)

Laughing Cow

Adding to what Prana said.

IP-Address might not be an accurate indicator as I could be posting from multiple locations too:

Example:
ID-1 = Work
ID-2 = Home
ID-3 = Library
etc.

In which case all the Id's are me but are posting from diferent IP-Addresses.

Seeya.

dezhen2001
02-20-2003, 09:36 PM
i think kung lek was meaning more people with multiple log ins - not neccessarily different ip addresses :)

KL, there's a simple and fair way to handle that. Include the IP address with each post. Multiple posters at the same address would soon be ferreted out by their peers (us). But they'd have a chance to explain if there's a reason. It works on the other MA forum I check regularly.

By the way, I am my own sweet, loveable self here, and no one else. Have been from the start. But I suspect that my wife, liberal that she is, may be masquerading as eulerfan.

Budokan
02-20-2003, 11:08 PM
Budokan is proud to say that there's only one like him. (Thank God!) Budokan doesn't use multiple personalities. He's f*cked up enough in the head without trying to pretend to be other people. (Like writing about himself in third person. What a pretentious wanker.)

What was wrong with Shadow Dragon? I think that is far superior to Laughing Cow.

I do go thru great lengths to conceal my identity though.

personally i dont believe there is ANY harm involved with someone having multiple identities on a forum if a person feels inclined to do so. if anything, it adds some fun. i have 3 brothers and we all live together. two of us are posters on the forum and would like to think that if someone else in my house (for some strange reason) suddenly wanted to join the forum under a name of their choice, they would be able to without worrying about getting deleted or accused of whatever. just a thought

theres a difference between multiple posters and multiple posters who start arguments, troll and generally insult other people... which is what i think kung lek was perhaps meaning (?)

Posters who post under more than 1 id are just defeating their own purpose, since the whole purpose of posting on KFO is to have a post count of 60 million.

They should just be ashamed of theirselves. How would Washington feel if Chicago acquired the Lincoln Memorial and put a baby-crap brown uniform on him?

I'm not saying your coming out of left field but...

Who wrote Shakespeare? Who was Machiavelli? Who was Lao tzu? Who was the Platonic imitator? Confucious... Socrates never documented his ideas... So who wrote Socrates? Who wrote the dialogues between Shiva and his wife Parvati? Who documented the events during Genesis and the Great flood in the holy bible?

You recognise the names Mark twain, Voltaire and Dr. Seuss? Sure, everybody does. None of those names are real.

You just negated an entire tradition of western and eastern literature, art, science, philosophy and metaphysics...

Ones actions and expressions makes ones name.. Statements like these are suspitious.. The purveyors of martial artist throughout history have always tryed to rewrite history and the rules to fit their viewpoints.

The most outspoken and clever of them put themselves up on a petastal to be worshipped and adored by impressionable young minds. Becoming the unwitting spokespeople for the twisted viewpoints from a system that were ultimatly piecemealed together by those that live free to be unregulated and uncontrolled by those very same conventions of the system(s) they created to be followed by others...

Yawn....

Royal Dragon
03-02-2003, 02:37 PM
Royal Dragon is me, and on rare occasion, Terri posts under the name Royal Empress. Since she posts from my computer, and I have a semi static IP, she has the same IP as me. Sometimes, I have a freind over who ocasionally postst form here too. When that happenes, his IP is the same as mine. On an occasion or two, I have accidentally posted as Terri, becuase she was logged in, and I wasn't paying attention till it was too late.

If I forget to pay the cable bill (Becasue I'm a lazy cuss), my Ip changes every time I dail up on Netzero.

I see this on my forum too. Certain peple you can tell thier scedual because they throw one IP between 9-5, and a seperate on form 5:30 till about 7:30 the next morning.

Then you have the Chung Moo Doe guys. They all have the same Ip, but a variety of differnt dumb names, yet say almost the exact same things because they are blindly following what thier Master tells them to say online. We know, however, it's really about 8-10 different guys.
