Finally, with my life evening out a bit, I made some phone calls.

Went to a jj class tonight. Had a blast. Good to be training again.

It's a jj class at a karate school. The shihan there has a great
rep and from what I have seen this totally bears out. He knows
my sifu and an older brother of mine and we had a long talk about
what I'm looking for; which is mainly just a good workout, learn
some stuff from a different angle and the opportunity to roll a lot.

Good warmup, good ground drills, great guys.

Happy to say my cardio more than held up to the warm up. I was
sweating and breathing hard but no real fatigue. There are 2
guys that weigh more than me and I am looking forward to some
free play with them.

There is a Judo club that meets on sundays and i'll be there.

There are a couple of guys there that have seen some comps
with good placings, after I get to know them a bit I will see if any
of you guys have run accross them.

yee haw!!!! it's been a while.....

hey, hey, hey buddy, what you do with yourself in your spare time is your business:D

yea, I've been solo training for almost 2 years now. That's fine
for forms and chi kung. Bag work, etc but I'm a sparrer, always
have been and I need a couple hours a week or I just don't
feel right:)

In the JJ class, I think it will be a couple of weeks till they let me
roll with anyone freestyle. I get the sense that they want to be
sure I'm not there for some ego trip. That's ok with me. I'd do
the same.

But, hopefully, this sunday with the judo guys I'll be able to
get a little in. I heard Judo guys were easy;)

hehe - iron body is a pain, especially my back and head using the wall :| also coz im at university and have to train near my room on campus :p

yup i mainly do qigong now as i dont have any partners for sticking hands or whatever and wanna understand things better before i go so much freestyle. Theres a difference between me sparring and using wing chun right now as im ironing out the bad habits i have (WC wise) from all the other things i did for the last 14yrs.

its all good
