so the basic 5 animals, ( being horse, dragon, tiger, crane, and leapord ) is not intrinsic to bak sui lam but rather a derivation from the south? there is also a distinct thing as shaolin 10 animals?
forgive my noviceness, but what is 5 animal huo tao? it is qigong?
also gene, the fact you brought up the 5 element theory is interesting, however, does not the 5 element animal entities merely correspond with the creatures from each element's respective cardinal direction? for example metal is north, and the creature is the turtle entwined with the serpent.
