Oso replied on another thread that "Ninjas still suck".
Maybe so, I don't know enough about them to pass judgement one way or the other.
I did run across two ninjas training in the dark in a park last summer, however, and I found it interesting to watch their training.
What they were doing looked better (more relaxed and natural) than most Japanese arts I had seen.
Being "deadly" and "secret" ninjas, dressed in black and training in the dark, they were a little thrown when I walked up to them and introduced myself and asked them about their style.
They called it Tai-jitsu.
Just thought I'd share:)

I got attacked by two midget ninjas in a bathroom at a GWAR concert once....

I am thinking Oso must have been picked on by Ninjas when he was younger, that would explain the angst...

were just sort of peeved that I dared walk up and talk to them, like, "Hey, leave us alone, we're secret masked ninjas and we're deadly dangerous figures of mystery!"

I notice Oso is strangely silent on this issue

I think it's hilarious these ninjas were practicing their deadly secrets right out in the open....:D

I'm just curious about the ninja midgets, were they the midget clone type, or beaten-by-hammer-to-stunted-hight type?:D

;)

Oso

and it's taijutsu, not tai-jitsu

Oso
03-01-2003, 04:59 AM
but most likely, the two were just the decoys and you didn't see
the 666 ninjas hiding in the trees.

Oso
03-01-2003, 05:01 AM
oh, man, my mistake there were only 664 ninjas hiding in the
trees cuz the other two would make 666 and everyone knows
ninjas only travel in packs of 666. It's got to do with thier secret
kujikuri techniques.

Oso

I guess I could have edited all that into the first post but now
it looks like there's an army of Starship Troopers on the page.

cool.

**edit** not now though cuz I changed my avatar.

Just imagine a world of cloned George Clinton's:p

you guys are too funny.

c'mon ninjas suck and you know it.

claiming ninjutsu as your style would only be second to claiming
that you could shoot your chi at attackers to disable them.

Or that you are a deadly assassin, as long as there's a ramp to where your target is.

btw, props on your new avatar.

I didn't know the answer to the question was:

"Being chang's avatar"

glad to see he's doing...

I think I'm gonna have to put on some P-funk now.

'if ya hear any noise, it's just me an' the boys'

I'm talking about the wheelchair ninja guy I started a thread on a few days ago.

That picture of Mr. Collins is from the Grammys, this year's, I think. I don't know what he's been doing in the last couple of years, but in the mid to late nineties Bootsy was doing all kind of session work for Bill Laswell's various projects (Praxis, Material, Funkronomicon, Bahia Black, Zillatron, etc.)

Oso

CSN, I was inspired to change my avatar. Hope you don't mind
the slight copycat.

ok, gotcha on the wheelchair thing. I personally think that was
just a cover story and he's fully capable and just trying to get
close enough to do the job.

I have the Praxis and Funkronomicon CD's. My musical interests
have changed a bit since I was listening to all that but my p-funk/bootsy collection is not something I'll ever take to the
pawn shop.

Ain't no thang Starchild! A few more like this (I bet Fatherdog could be convinced) and it'll be a regular Chocolate City around here.

I love my P-funk, I love my 'out' jazz, I love my modern classical, I love my punk rock (I wore Iggy as an avatar for a while), I love my hardcore hiphop (ditto Chuck D and KRS.) I don't see how any of it is mutually exclusive.

I guess I better schedule some userpic time for Cecil Taylor and Bela Bartok.:D

Hell, I don't need a wig to do that - I just have to let my hair grow out some.

I remember my first P-funk concert. It was at SXSW about eight years ago, and some terrible band (Weapon of Choice, if memory serves) featuring the brother of a guy who had been in the Red Hot Chili Peppers for about five minutes was the opener.

As soon as they finished and left the stage, saying George Clinton and the P Funk Allstars would be out soon, I started saying "Sh!t! G0dd@mn! Get off your ass and jam!" and by the time I reached the word "jam" everyone in the hall was chanting it with me. We kept this up for about a half hour, and when the band came out, they fell right into the groove with the audience. They played for about three hours, and at the end of the night, Chuck D and Lauryn Hill had both come out to tear up some freestyles for us - this was right before the Fugees hit it really really big. "Fu Gee La" was out, but the album wasn't yet, and "Killing Me Softly" was a few months down the road.

The next time I saw P-Funk was even better. It was a huge three day festival out in the country. The Friday, James Brown was the headliner. Saturday it was Bunny Wailer, and on Sunday they called down the Mothership!

dang, I just went to look for the before pic and didn't scan it.

that was a new year's eve 70's party and I went as Kojak
so I shaved bald but stole the wig from this guy later in the
evening.

Oso

I didn't listen to anything but p-funk and digital underground the
rest of the day yesterday !

FD, I haven't heard either of those but I've only got 2 Bootsy
cd's.

Am I the only one who sees the obvious smoke screen Oso is throwing up?! He starts this thread off by spouting off facts about ninjas, facts no one but a ninja would know, spill sthe secret of the wheelchair ninja and then deftly changes the subject!!

I think Oso is a now defunct Ninja with plans for revenge on the ninja community at large!!!

Oso
03-04-2003, 10:07 AM
sorry red5, nice theory but p-funk is just so much cooler to talk
about than ninjas.

and I know Bootsy could kick any ninjas azz !!
