In the VERY early days of Hong Kong Yip Man Wing Chun, two of Yip Man's students at the time were asked to demonstrate Yip Man's style of Wing Chun.

Those two men were the late Leung Sheung and Lok Yiu (who is still alive and in Hong Kong).

Here is a photo of them at that demonstration.
I know it is blurry, it is a photo of a photo.

I have a series of these that I'll put up on my website time permitting.

Perhaps someone can translate the cantonese. :)

Later....

Leung Sheung is on the right, I presume?

Right Bong Left Gaan

This is "Right Bong Left Gaan". Leung Sheung first takes the offensive move by using a Fook Sau and a Right Gaan Sau towards Lok Yiu. Lok Yiu stands on guard and prepares his jing. Lok first uses a Right Bong and a Left Gaan to neutralize the attack, then listens for the right moment to strikes back.

Seems like the guy who wrote this paragraph was just using his imagination to describe the scene, only Leung and Lok knew exactly what went on back then, anyway......
