Attitude: (Confidence-Drive-Heart-Gameness)

Physical Attributes: (Combat Conditioning)

Martial Training: (Skills-Tactics-Principles)

I am curious to know which category you would pick as the most important category to have in conjuction to surviving a violent street altercation.

Please no Mr. Miyagi answers of you need all three and if you wish please give a discription to why.

Thanks and I hope I did this poll right.

I voted on Attitude, but i think those big 3 are all part of Martial Arts training, or should be.

I chose attitude. Great conditioning and skills are meaningless if your mind goes to mush and you freeze.

Guo,

I agree they are all important. So far though we all agree that attitude is the key element. Look at the many-many people who have zero formal martial training yet manage to get through rape assualts, attempted muggings, murders, and so forth just on sheer balls to the wall aggressive drive.

Old Chinese saying for Kung Fu (badly translated):

FirstCourage,
Then Strength (read attributes)
Then Technique.

"Conditioning is the greatest hold." - Karl Gotch.

Amazed at how many people think attitude is the most important.

"Everybody has a plan until they get hit." - Mike Tyson

Conditioning is the correct answer. then skills , then attitude.

The right MENTAL ATTITUDE is sharpened/improved by MENTAL CONDITIONING

With a powerfull MIND you can FLIP OUT MAXIMUM and do AWESOME STUFF.
If you have good physical conditioning + moving skills but you are a WUSS WEAK MIND you will DUCK COVER AND CRY LIKE A GIRL when on a real situation.
