Awe man.... and I've been practicing the Flying Knee meets face next to canvas tech. for years now... I've just about gotten it mastered, now I'll have to find something else.

Thanks. I was just wondering cause I hardly ever see people use them.

Not many. Just a few clips. I probably missed the fights where they were used.

I think it's knees to the head that are illegal when the opponent is down. However, I believe you can still knee the body.

Pride allows knees to the head on the ground.

Yes, knees are indeed illegal. Only cripples are allowed to enter the octagon. :p

LOL @ Kinjit! That's why so many of their fights go to the ground, I guess?

Specifically, Pride allows knees to the head in any situation when the opponent is not on all fours. On his feet? Clinch and knee all you like. On his back, a la Coleman/Vovchanchyn in the Grand Prix? Knee him into a coma. On his hands and knees? No knee for you!

I've never quite understood the reasoning behind that.

Nah fatherdog, they changed it. You can knee when he's on all fours and you can bootstomp him now too.

So basically you can take someone down and kick them into submission? Well, there ya go. UFC rules now favor the CMA. It's good to finally end that argument :D

No no--pride rules, not UFC.

I'm sure Pride would LOVE to have CMA represented.

Oh, really? Cool. When did they change it? I've only seen up through Pride 12.
