maybe it's used to extend your energy out to the tips of your fingers.

One method of Biu jee striking that I learned was to hold the fingers tight and use the middle finger as the biu jee striking
point. I think it also helps when striking this way if the thumb of the biu hand is kept loose. Use of the middle finger helps focus striking potential into a smaller surface area thus making dim mak
more effective. Similar concept apply to striking with the bottom
knuckle of the fist only as opposed to using the bottom three.

Biu jee strikes are executed from a short distance from the target. The whole body should be behind the movement
for maximum focus using speed and relaxation.

Also after striking the target the biu jee should instantly
recoil back. Like the movement of a snake head striking
at its prey.

A good method to train the biu jee is in the first section of
SLT -- wu sao and fook sao. When bringing back the wu sao
you can focus on developing biu jee energy.
