View Full Version : Canto pop star Leslie Cheung commits suicide.

Sad news for those of you that follow the Hong Kong film & entertainment industry, singer & film star Leslie Cheung committed suicide on Monday evening in Hong Kong (Tuesday morning US west coast time). Apparently despondent over a relationship problem he jumped from the Mandarin Hotel in Hong Kong's Central district. For those that didn't know him for his singing career he had done a lot of very well known films including 'Farewell My Concubine', 'Ashes of Time' and many others.

Just thought I would share that for those that might have enjoyed his films or music. While it could be said that he committed suicide & he is responsible for his fate it is still nevertheless tragic & sad news indeed.

Uknown to me but the peace he did not find in life he hopefully finds in death.
Sad news indeed nevertheless.

wow, he had contributed a lot to the entertainment world.

Sad indeed that one would end his life based on these things.

My God. That's terrible.

Needless to say, it would be tragic regardless, but Leslie Cheung was one of my favorite HK actors. Kit from 'A Better Tomorrow.'

Yeah, yeah! A Chinese Ghost Story was a classic!

(I guess that celebrating his works is a fitting enough way to mourn his passing, yeah?)

What is it with guys and girl names?
Until I saw jackie chan movies I always thought he was a girl, never heard of a guy refered to as jackie.

Now Jackie on the 70's show :D

But most of the people I know with those names are girls. I never head of a guy named Leslie
