I heard from an even more reliable source that Iraq's rate of gun ownership exceeds its literacy rate.

But its still NOT a free OR polite society, so that chucks that argument out the frickin' window.

Ashcroft Links The Iron Sheik To Al-Qaeda
------------------------------

Attorney General John Ashcroft dropped a bombshell in a press conference this morning by revealing ****ing evidence that he claims links controversial professional wrestling superstar "The Iron Sheik" to the Al-Qaeda terror network.

"We have reason to believe that Mr. Sheik has been involved in several acts of anti-American terror, such as his brutal and unprovoked assault on Sgt. Slaughter, Hillbilly Jim and The Junk Yard Dog in the locker room last week. His place in the Axis of Evil is clear when you consider his alliances with Nickolai Volkoff and Mr. Fuji."

Ashcroft also cited the Sheik's penchant for spitting on the American flag and cheating while the referee is not looking as being credible threats to national security, as well as "things that really burn me up."

Unfortunately, the press conference was brought to an abrupt halt when the Sheik burst into the room, first knocking Ashcroft from his podium with a steel folding chair, then placing him in his dreaded Camel Clutch until he submitted. The two will face off for the Intercontinental Title later this month at Terror Slam '03.

Somehow the explanation for why everyone wants to attend US Universities is hidden in those last two statements.
Being so stupid and barbarious and all, seems like people wouldn't be fighting so hard for student visas and such... I mean we're so hated and we hate so many people--- that must explain the huge amounts of middle eastern and asian populations here, and the ones competing with each other to attend our universities. For the life of me, I can't once remember a HS valadictorian saying he was going to attend Baghdad University.

New rumour - Sadaam and the "Wonder Twins" may be dead from a bunker buster attack...is anyone going to shed a tear?

MB-
I think one of the reasons we're hated soooo much is that we never seem to be as bad they make us out to be.

Anyways, Asian students come here for the wimminz... dincha see van wilder?? ;)

It's because of Van Wilder that I'll never be able to eat custard filled donuts again.

Van Wilder has to be the funniest National Lampoon movie in years. If any of you haven't seen it, rent it and watch it.

Nobody really hates you.

But that film sucked ass. It takes a lot to make me stop watching a film but that one did it. My Canadian girlfriend loved it though.

[edited for clarity}
I disagree with the word EVERYONE, there are many people that also attend universities in London, Paris, Vienna, Prague, etc.

The USA does not have the sole ownership of top Universities.

BTW, if everone wanted to got to the states why does the rest of the world have such a huge immigration/refugee problem And why are right-wing groups on the rise in the world?

FWIW, London is currently the No. 1 spot for cultural diversity in the world.

Have fun.

Didja mean you disagree w/ everyone, or the use of the word "everyone"? No doubt, Europe and the rest of the world has many fine universities... and don't get me started on the utter vapidity of many US institutions... Also:

Liokault-
What does it take for you to walk out of a theatre? My GF & I walked out of "Madness of King George"... simply awful.. Van Wilder was something I rented, so that wasn't as bad... and it IS the best thing to come out National Lampoon for a good many years, I'm afraid. :p

These days I don't even bother going to a Cinema, simply wait 1yr till the movie is out on Cable and watch it than.

Not that there are many movies coming out that I would be willing to spend bucks to watch.

Example:
I am a big fan of SF and period drama, but never managed to watch either "Phantom menace" or "Gladiator", kept falling asleep.
:D

At home I tend to watch a lot of Discovery channel.

REDMOND, WA--Microsoft Corporation today announced a high-level arrangement with the U.S. State Department to restructure postwar Iraq as a Windows-based application.
The project, known as the Very Large Application Development In Multiple Iraqi Regions [VLADIMIR], would organize the country into a set of departments, or folders, linked by e-mail, instant messaging, and streaming video. The temporary occupation government would rule through a simple point-and-click interface.

The impact on the average Iraqi citizen is difficult to estimate at this time, but Xbox Live! will be made available at no charge to all citizens of Iraq, provided they sign an oath not to mod the consoles. MSN will be offered at a competitive price when the society is ready.

Former members of the Hussein government are be issued with 802.11g Personal Observational Webcams [POWs] that would allow them relative freedom of movement while providing a check for occupation forces. Rumors that this system would incorporate drag and drop functionality are unconfirmed.

Operations will be centralized at a tech campus to be known as Microsoft Iraqi Nexus Installation for Technology Reconstruction and Universal Education [MINITRUE]. This would include a massive server bank, an unspecified number of tech suppport lines, and a render farm for outgoing news. Security for this installation would be provided by a system not disclosed, presumably for reasons of security.

No precise date has been announced for rollout of the project, but Iraqi Service Pack 1 is on schedule for late 2004.
