Just finnished Ripley's Believe or Not, what I saw was amazing. This retired spy from the Chinese Goverment was trained as an assasin, but the reason why he was even hired and trained was because of a very unique talent that he has. He is able to throw a sewing needle through a 3mm thick glass. He demo'd this by taping a green balloon to the window and the needle went through and popped the balloon. truely amazing! He was taught by his father who at his advanced age was able to do some pretty spectacular things as well. Has anyone ever seen or heard of this incorporated in any Kung Fu Systems? I would like to know and get more information on too.

i am a student of shaolin monk shi xing hao in houston texas. his brother can do exactly what you are describing.....he thows the needle into a fishtank and it leaves a little stream of water coming out. my sifu said he had heard of this skill but never really believed it because he hadn't seen it in person. his brother came and trained at shaolin for some years also, he focused on the chigong....then a master offered to teach him this needle skill. i am not sure if this was a monk or a laymen, but my sifu said his brother would practice throwing for hours and hours everyday and after a few years he really started to master the skill. my sifu says he is still amazed everytime he sees his brother do this. his brother actually got accepted into one of the top 5 sports colleges in china just because he had this skill.
it is cool to know that something like this exists and yet is still not very common.....a true martial skill.

Hey you can't say I didn't warn you.

Check out our new video eXtreme Kungfu Qigong. It covers the Hard Qigong tournament they held in China. Get this: their were two mandatory events - compulsories if you will. 1. brick breaking 2. throwing a needle through glass. The video documents the needle throwing, as well as all sorts of intense qigong demos. Remember, this was a competition, so some competitors really go for it.

Click the banner above to go to www.MartialArtsMart.com (http://www.MartialArtsMart.com), our forum's sponsor then search "extreme" for more info.

Now back to our regular programming...

Nice GeneChing, I would, without a doubt purchase it. The only problem is that it is not offered in the 21st Century format of choice, that being DVD. VHS is so last century :D Any plans also offering this format in the future? If you did, I would be in real trouble. I just may have to get my antique 4-head VHS out of the pawn shop  let me know.

sd: Yes it has some of the water lei tai footage. No complete bouts but a few good exchanges. It actually looks a little safer the regular lei tai, provided you don't get knocked out.

ft: We have been looking into DVD production. You are right, it is the way of the future, but what is making us hesitate is the capability of hidden features and extra tracks. We would like to pack as much as we could into that format but we still in a learning stage about its potential. Stay tuned...

I've been wanting to get that extreme qigong video. When I get some extra money, I'll get it. What week did that Ripley's show air? I no longer get cable (a personal choice) and I would have to go to someone's house to see that.

And it was the way, for a while. It was all about DVD (http://www.martialartsmart.com/dvd-video.html)s for a few years. It was so much easier to fund our publications back then. We still sell some DVDs, but not at all like before. Now it's the way of the past. :(
