Marvin Perry (the San Shou Champion Ralek says he wants to fight) has a new web page:

Marvin Perry (http://www.marvinperry.org)

It's his first web page so it's still rough but he put some good fight clips on the page that you can watch if you want to see some Nation Level San Shou fighting.

****. He's 205. When I saw those video's I thought he was a lot lighter because he was so quick.

IMHO Marvin is the US" #1 san shou fighter! and, sob sob, I've known him since he was just a novice fighter in 97 :)

ikfmdc: thanks for adding that clip. That was form his Muay Thai fight as you know. The clip on the page is the entire fight (51 Seconds) and I don't think Marvin even got hit once.

I'd love to get a strong sidekick like that :)

Marvin Does have a MONSTER sidekick and we are working on it to make it even harder by sharpening the impact power into a tighter range. Like a "one inch" kick. Instead of getting knocked back four feet when you get hit by it you fall forward. It's the side kick Jason Yee uses. We call it the life stealer because it feels like you get you organs sucked out of your body after it hits you. The problem is that it is much harder to get the right range on the kick. Marvin's sidekick has a more effective impact range but less sharp penetration power. He mostly uses it to disrupt peoples kicking rhythm and create space. Still hurts like heck though...

Dont suppose there is any magic trick to this other then "practice" :)

A deadly sidekick sounds like a godo thing to have, everyone seems to be able to master a good roundhouse (and it's effective too), but a good front kick (teep or what you will) and sidekick seems to be harder for most people to use effectively (timing and such).

I've always wondered if San Shou+BJJ wouldnt be considdered a better combo then BJJ+Muay Thai for MMA events. Simply because i'm guessing that yuo strike differently when you expect to be taken down any minute and that this way of fighting translates better into MMA then the stalking way of Muay Thai.

Aparently ShaolinTiger fought Marvin Perry, and since Ralek once claimed (i say once because he graciously and yes i mean graciously announced that it was all in good fun and wished ST the best of luck) that since he had dominated (remember HE CLAIMED) ShaolinTiger and he had done OK against Marvin Perry, that he (rolls) should now fight Marvin Perry, since OBVIOUSLY they were of the same caliber :)

First of all relek assume I’m not a 12 year old kid who will fall for you obvious attempts at goading me into responding to your challenge by getting on a plane and bringing Marvin down to fight you. If you are serious about fighting him for real in a ring then you will have to prove to us that you are more worthy of a title shot then fighters that have been in the sport for years. If that is the case then you are not as unskilled as you claim to be, which is fine by me.

If you are what you say you are then you do not deserve a shot at his title. I have already said you could come by and spar if you can get up to Boston just let us know in advance and we can discuss it.

You admitted to Shaolin Tiger that you did not beat him and ST said that Marvin would kill him today so the odds are not good. Marvin is a very nice and humble person but takes no opponent lightly and would not just play around with you.

In the ring of at our school you would have to bring a friend to drive you to the hospital if need be, prove you have insurance, and sign a liability waiver before you could fight him. He is a professional fighter and cannot just fight anybody who thinks they are a tuff guy without getting in real trouble with the law.

So assume you are not going to be able to fight him. Sorry, try Cung Le maybe he will fight you he is always looking for opponents.
