Sifu Andreas Hoffman of Bamberg, Germany, the inheritor of Chi Sim Weng Chun, will be presenting his Third Annual Workshop May 3rd and 4th in Dayton, OH. This workshops covers the following areas in the Chi Sim Weng Chun lineage:

1) Chi Sim history and overview of Weng Chun Kuen.
2) Advanced footwork for all ranges of combat
3) Kiu Sao/Chi Sao reactional training and concepts
4) Understanding the combination and continuation of ranges through:
a) Long range fighting – with special focus on how to use the 18 Kiu Sao concepts to get a better bridge than your opponent
b) Throwing and locking
c) Ground fighting – seeing how to escape and to use the positions on the ground with Weng Chun against an opponent that is standing or sitting on you, you lying on your back, with your opponent on your side, aginst headlocks and more…

Following the weekend Workshop is an intense, 7-Day instructor course to cover the following:

{ Kiu Sau sparring with Grand Master Hoffmann
{ Forms and exercises for the first level of Chi Sim Weng Chun

Participants will be recognized and qualified to teach the first level of Chi Sim Weng Chun Kung Fu. Chi Sim International is looking for instructors and students in the US and Canada.

From current VTM research, Chi Sim is the earliest version of Wing Chun with a clear connection from Northern Shaolin to the Southern Shaolin martial arts. This system contains the roots in terms of training, theory and philosophy of Wing Chun. The Chi Sim Weng Chun system existed prior to the Trilogy forms of Siu Nim Tau, Chum Kiu, and Biu Ji.

Great, looking forward to this workshop. I did some research and from the way it looks is that there is no one in United States currently teaching Chi Sim Weng Chun. Thanks VTM for bring Chi Sim Weng Chun and giving us the opportunity to have first hands on experience. Scott Powers
