Online Muay Thai Manual

So, it turns out that I am apparantly a contributing author to what appears to be an online Muay Thai textbook. I am listed as a contributing author, and quite a lot of my personal writings are included within the manuscript, word-for-word.

But I was never consulted regarding it. I don't know who put this manuscript together, or even who the other contributing authors are (they are listed, I just don't know them).

Don't get me wrong, I'm honored that someone has felt that my articles on Muay Thai are worth being put together into a book with other noted authors, but I didn't have any say regarding which articles of mine would be used, how they would be used, etc. Some of my articles that were used are quite old, and I would have liked to have the chance to rewrite them and/or update them with better (or more correct) information. I am also wondering if any money is being made off of this book. If so, then I want my share!

Khun Kao,

If I were you, I would send them a pleasant letter informing them of their copyright infringement by using your material without permission, and ask them to take down the book.

If they want to use your material, they should negotiate your involvement.

I also noticed that they are using a number of different copyrighted photos they gleaned from various Muay Thai websites. I wonder if their owners know their photos are being used.

BTW, it's a good piece!

I don't actually mind them using my material. The point is mostly that if they are using it for profit, I want my cut.

I would have liked it had they consulted me regarding which material they wanted to use. I honestly don't know if any of my stuff is actually "protected" or anything, because all of the articles that they used of mine in that manuscript were posted on message boards such as this one, MMA.TV, and rec.martial-arts
