Kathy Jo,

About seven years (and for me, two computers) ago, you helped me via the WCML with a query for my Sifu regarding a orthopaedic procedure, the fusion of the subtalar joint in the ankle.

You directed me some great informative sites, but the references (my bad) slipped into the ether ages ago.

I now have a sidai who has ruptured his medial collateral ligament, and possibly one of the cruciates, in his knee.

Any chance I could get your help once more?

Thanks

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

You're not being ignored. :) KJ is in San Jose for our Bay Area Wing Chun get-together. I'll check with her when I see her to see if she has computer access. Otherwise, she won't be home for about 10 days.

John,

thanks lots for the info.

Please don't let Kathy Jo interrupt what she's doing on my account, expecially if she has no easy access to the web.

cheers

Andrew.

Hi Andrew. Sorry to be a day late and dollar short on this.

I remember that discussion years ago, and darned if I can find the source of that information anymore. I also came across a great reference within the past year or so I'd love to share with you, but again having trouble locating it at the moment. I will definitely get back to you once I come across it. I remember looking up something on the pelvis and psoas, and got somewhere in the vicinity of 150 pages of everything you could ever want to know and more, LOL.

Meantime, there are lots of helpful links out there, these among some of the better ones I came across:

Good general reference (http://www.pennhealth.com/ency/article/001076.htm)

Anatomy, biomechanics, diagnosis, treatment, etc. (http://www.carletonsportsmed.com/medial.htm)

Managing collateral ligament tears (http://www.physsportsmed.com/issues/1996/03_96/meislin.htm)

Outlines treatment and return-to-sport routine for ligament sprains (http://www.scottorthopedic.com/tao/html/rehab/MCLnonopprotocol.htm)

Includes cool video overview (http://www.methodisthealth.com/Ortho/ligament.htm)

PDF overview on cruciate ligament tears (http://www.omacime.com/articles/ligamenttears.pdf)

On ligament reconstruction (http://orthotrauma.net/orthopaedics/textbook/articles/kneeligaments.htm)

Wishing the best to your sidai in his recovery! I'll do my best to get back to you on that other link if I can find it.

Regards,
- Kathy Jo
