I'm going to be doing a lot of traveling this month and next, and I was thinking about trying to squeeze in a class at a MA school I've heard about. It will be out of the way from where I'll be staying, and I'll have to get there by myself on public transportation. It might be a long shot since I'll only be in the city for a day or two.

However, since I'll be away from my 'home base' for two months I figure that any class time is good class time.

Anyone ever do anything like this?

Sure, why not. I've done it before as I used to travel a lot.

I'd advise calling up first and letting them know and asking if it's ok if you pop in for a class or two. Just a courtesy call, you know.

It goes a long way, and is considered common courtesy on both ends, if you can take a letter of introduction from your regular instructor.

I recently visited a school related to ours while travelling in another country. It was very rewarding in that I got to meet other people who train the same art and was able to compare the way we train to the way they train. And it was good fun. :)
