I woke up today and disovered a lot of small bumps on my arm, and a small group of large bumps on the back of my neck. It looks like someone was playing connect the dots on me with a cigarette. Besides the obvious answer of seeing a doc, anyone have any idea WTF?

Are they open sores or just reddish? That's kinda freaky man...

My mother in law, who is a nurse, said it's probably from the pesticide I used this past weekend.

They look like cigarette burns, red and pusssyThey feel like them too.

I had a similar reaction once to a sweater. Bought it and went to a party without washing it first, had some kind of chemical in it that didn't like me.

Do a web search for the MSD sheet (material safety data sheet) for the pesticide you were using and see if your symptoms are listed.

And don't touch any more pesticides. Ever.

Sometimes true statements are the funniest statements. That would apply here. :)

I have these things again. This time I have not used any pesticides. The only common factors between the two incidents is that I did yard work. What kinds of bug bites would resemble a cigarette burn?

It kind of looks like what the toddler had. Oh well, at least it wasn't a brown recluse bite.

cripes that brown recluse bite looks a little uncomfortable!

I think it's the girls you are hanging out with exallace...

Spiders, ants, black flies or mosquitoes are probably the most common things to find in the yard. Look close to see if it has two holes or one in the center. Another possibility is allergic reaction to a plant.

I'm sticking with an allergic reaction to some chick he has been hanging out with.

Rash, Hives, or bites...hmm... don't know, could be any, or any combo...

oh, and the e isn't for einstein... that was some funny shizzy

I'm thinking it's probably a plant, or insect bites. From the pictures and symptoms of skin infections, almost everything would point to either plants or insect bites.

The only common link was trimming the grass after mowing the lawn, and it's quite possible I rubbed up against something. I'm going to inspect around the house for any poison ivy/oak.

Do they have much of a problem with chiggers in San Antonio? Every summer, my oldest gets several bites like what you are discribing, and my ex says it's from chiggers. (He's in the Dallas/Fort Worth area) Try putting Vick Vapor Rub on a bite or two. It's supposed to kill the little buggers and allow the bite to heal faster.

I don't know if it's a problem, but that's what I suspect it is. The only thing that throws me off is that they don't really itch, which most people say that they do.

Not allways. My son only seems to be bothered by them if they are in a bad spot, like the armpit of the back of his knee. Maybe some of the problem is psycho-sematic. The creepy part of chiggers is that they burrow under your skin and stay there till they die and are reabsorbed into your body.:( Yick!

What the hell is a chigger? Is that like a tick?

i'm tempted to start a poll for that last question:

What the hell is a chigger? Is that like a tick?
1. a measurement of consumable alcohol
2. a racist term for the offspring of two specific cultural groups
3. an insect that can ruin your day
4. yet another term for a guy's berries, nads, noogs, tykes, kids, etc.

It's a flee-like insect which is pretty much harmless, but very annoying.
