Now that I have your attention...
A buddy of mine had a visitor from an Aikido club visit his club with a non-martial artist. My buddy is a longfist instructor of pretty exceptional skill.
The Aiki guy proclaimed loudly that kung fu was only good for dancing. My friend invited him out to the floor. The Aiki guy said sure, 'but let's take it easy so I don't hurt you'. Seconds later the Aiki guy was on the floor. 'I thought we were taking it easy' he said. My friend told him he was. He only used a beginners fighting drill. The Aiki man told him he would show him.
Seconds later the aiki man was on the ground again massaging his hyper extended elbow. He left muttering excuses.
Days later the Aiki guys friend came by and apologized for his friends stupid behavior. Apparently the Aiki guy went back to his own school and complained how he got beat up by a kung fu guy. His Aikido teacher looked at him and asked him "what were you doing there in the first place."
My friend the long fist guy and I just marveled at it. The Aikido teacher was obviously a smart, savvy guy. It's too bad his student wasn't paying attention to the most important lessons.
I am a big beleiver in luck. The more I work, the more luck I have.
