I haven't seen very many Bagua tapes. I've never seen any with unrehearsed fighting on them.

The one the best illustrates Bagua fighting methods is Luo De Xiu's tapes on Gao style Bagua.

You don't need to see full on fighting to see that this stuff is brutal.

Go to www.blacktaoist.com for practical Bagua information. Can't beat it.

Right. If you browse that website you'll find a lot of animated GIFs with Bagua applications.

Chen Zhen,

Go to empty flower. An empty flower member named John Wang posted a video clip of
this guy utilizing pa-kua in a Taiwan martial art tournament. In my opinion the BaGua was all right, but he was fighting too much in a fix circle walking method at times doing the match, that was his down fall.

Also he should have applied more throws, and takedowns as well cut the circle when he was counterattacking. If the ba gua guy had use more leg locking and throwing skills he would have won this match with no question in my mind.

But I take my hat off to any BaGua practitioner that step in a ring no matter what the skill level. It shows these guys are out there trying to master their art, so people have to respect that.

The links are below:

The links are below:

16. A Bagua guy fought in a Taiwan kungfu tournament. No head contact for that year. I have a lots of this kind movie clips and will add more to the list if people are interesting in it. (http://16. The links didn't work a couple of times for me, however, when I got up at 6:30 am EST, today, the links worked fine. It may simply be that too many are trying to watch them at the same time. Now, the links don't work.

Keep trying.

Theres a great clip on B.K. Frantzis' site www.energyarts.com - navigate to the Bagua section - then to fighting and click on the image.
It's vs a taiji guy who won a competition that Frantzis' was helping judge.

While I enjoyed Frantzis books(while I have never meet the man but have trained under a teacher who completed the Wu short form teacher course), I find this demostration(yes I know its meant to be unrehersesed) rather strange to watch.Particularly that the argressor (as per all demostrations its not the master) starts his attacks 2-3 metres from his opponent. That and the condsiderable body mass difference.
just an observation that bugs me about many Demos

Oh, sorry. It works for me, so I'm not sure how to fix it. Can other people use that link or not?

try doing a right click on the link and select "save file as" to save to your local disk. Thats not javascript you're seeing its the binary contents of the wmv file displayed as text.
