What tactical value do you all think the jump/leaping kick has in relation to both street and ring value?
In terms of the ring, I would think a leaping kick has great value for covering distance and follow up power. It also keeps you from "offering" a leg to a grappler or limiting your balance base to one side. The problem I see, tough, is the potental for telegraphing and the danger inherent in coming back down.
As far as street use, a jump kick I think works well for knock out power and unpredictability(how many people would expect a kick like that), but if you land wrong and fall, you're in a world of hurt.
Any thoughts?
