I think Serpent is right. While I have met women who are very good at MA and can put up a pretty good fight, I have yet to meet one who could beat a guy of similar training and experience.

also, many men are vulnerable and weak themselves. A woman of average strength can beat a lot of the men out there hands down. Show them up as the crying flabby sissy boys that they are. :D

Believe it or not this is coming from a knuckle-dragging caveman. I've met a lot of tough women in my career and they always looked and acted like ladies. I've seen them out shoot out run and on occasion out fight some supposedly awsome guys in our field. But these women were the exception and not the rule or standard. Very few try and even fewer make it into our section. My wife at 5'2" and 115 with a brown belt in karate and a blue belt in BBJ can almost whip my butt and I stand in at 5'11" and 205. only brute strength saves my pride and rear end from her. She knocked one of my teammates to the ground for a ugly remark before I could do it. while he was trying to get up she gave him a kick to the head and he didn't want anymore after that. He is a powerlifter and stands in at 5'7" and 205. There are a lot of badass chicks er ladies out there. Thats why I treat all women with respect and courtesy. Its embarrassing to get your hat handed to you by a chick. NEVER underestimate anyone.

In general can a woman Beat a male, Serpant? Perhaps in general no (lack of preparation/training). But she can manipulate real life situations to get you arrested, break with a life-long friend. Get you to give her meals/gifts/shelter (clothes/housing) pay for events, treatments, schooling... all while not yielding to all your desires/treating you badly.

Can she beat-up a guy? Not a great percentage.

Can she mess-you-over?~ In general, they can. Most definitely.

I hope you are not questioning my integrity on this SK because what little I post here I try to be fair and partial and truthful with an ocasional bit of humor. The group I work with is a rough bunch and the indivudual who my wife blasted off on deserved what he got. He had been knocked on his butt more than once for being stupid by others in the group and fortunately he no longer works with us. We are one of the few groups that live by "whatever happens here stays here". When an idiot puts his hands where they dont belong and says something rude he deserves what he gets. Get my point??

My brother used to work on the door of a gay club (allowed him to indulge his ****phobia semi-legitimately) and the worst pasting he ever took came from a seriously butch lesbian.
MA wise? All other things being equal strength will come into play, but I know some pretty strong women. One of my Sifu's 5 foot 140lb fiancee kicks seriously hard, and it takes all the endurance I can muster to catch her. With my other Sifu, my Simo once badly beat down a guy who attacked her, and she's hit me so hard I've not been able to train properly for the rest of the day. Gini Lau once put me down without breaking a sweat, and she tells a very interesting (but nasty) anecdote about when she was mugged one time.
BTW I thought that kickboxer was pretty poor really.

As far as I know grapplegirl is female, but she does play for the other team (she's not shy about it). Mind you she's been beaten in grappling competition by Gazzy Parman who is very feminine looking.

Of course some women can beat some men. There are women in eastern europe who work on construction sites, they could probably beat down 2/3 flabby male desk jockeys without breaking a sweat. There are also some female kickboxers who kick pretty **** hard. The funny thing is that the women who talk the most about how tough they are and how they can beat down any man (because gender doesn't matter etc) are probably the least likely to really do it.
