Next week I'm starting Jiujitsu class. There's one other woman and two smaller guys who are within 20-30 lbs of me, the rest of the class are 200+ pound guys. eeek!

I'm sure I will be eating plenty of mat. :) looking forward to picking up some groundfighting skills, though.

sounds like me, im probably the guy with the smallest weight in my class, and I have to roll with 200 pounders, dayum. like yesterday when i had to roll wit this bigass Paki, not fun at all.:eek:
make sure to say to them "be easy on the locks and submissions", and BE SURE TO TAP IN TIME else yull probably break your arms. when u roll wit such people they tend to get really excited when theyre about to pull some locking technique, so they dont think about it ONLY BEING TRAINING...:eek:

I'm all too familiar with tapping out in time. My Sifu just won the JJ Nationals in New York. :D Even when I DO tap out my joints smart for a while after he demonstrates on me.

and on the other subject, it's nice that that guy helps poor people talk about sex. I'm really touched by that...

Chen that link ya posted earlier is... familiar. My sifu doesn't like them since their head trainer trained under my sifu for only a few years then went and opend up his own school. (big disrespect) I don't really care about them, rivalty is nothing I bother with.

From chen villlage, C. P. Ong is my Sifu's teacher.
All I really did was silk reeling and breathing, but I like it. I already know Im going to enjoy it. Will work well with my SC.

I have stayed near Ocracoke island, it's at the southern tip of the outer banks. Nice in the off season (fall through early spring) horribly crowded in the summer. I went in November and it was very quiet. I camped on a neighboring island, but there are hotels and guest houses there.

I wanted a quiet vacation, and there was just about nothing to do there but walk and swim and bike and explore, I trained on the beach and visited with locals...restaurants are open in the off season but it's a sleepy place when the tourists are away.

I haven't lived here long enough to give you any good insider beach tips, as the beach is 500 miles away I don't get there very often. :)

I'll ask my boyfriend for some reccomendations tonight.

I had my first JJ class thursday. Shihan interviewed me for like an hour and a half - actually we wound up looking at his school photo album and laughing at his old stories. :D Class rocked, we did some submission stuff and some stand up stuff - nothing too new for me, I can't wait to go back tuesday nite.

This weekend I"m going to train with the Pong Lai folks. Should get the crap beaten out of me and learn a new form.

It's good. I woke up with a terrible pain in my stumach.... so I ate a pizza. Didn't help. ;) Have had that terrible pain all day until just like 2 hours ago. So now I feel great, just healing up from yesterdays training I guess.

Unless you make the pizza differently it is unhealthy. Not sure what you mean... I read about a kid who had a sickness that had his body coulnd't handle normal food. So he needed to eat tons of fat junk food everyday and drink tons of beer. Otherwise he would faint. :)

man i just watched a danish report from baghdad.. they filmed a group of americans beating up an iraqi civilian wit sticks, he was bleeding outta his mouth at the end.. that triggered a protest demonstration, where they stood there yelling at the americans, they were unarmed. then the americans fired into the group, killing 3, wounding 14. one of the killed was a father to 5 children, and they visited his family. they were all weeping over his dead body, and the brothers asked for revenge. then they asked someone else who had his brother killed, and he said he now was "Saddams loyal fedayeen (soldier), and he wanted to drink the americans' blood".

went to the shaolin thing on sunday, was okay, wasn't jaw dropping or anything , but it was entertaining. i had a long ass weekend playing "host" doing **** i did not want to do , that sucked, but otherwise was fun. i did however make time to train, and did so alot , no longer winded i can perform as per usual... well, almost. got some cool shaolin beads as well.

It's too bad that being a moderator didn't work out for FC. Really too bad. Even more so that he took it so personally and has decided to leave us. Being a moderator isn't for everyone. You have to have a thick skin and an even hand. You also have to read a lot of garbage. I truly hope that as time passes, FC will see the cause and effect of the entire scenario and return to us. There is no dishonor in what happened. It was just unfortunate, and much worse things have happened on the forum here.

Yea, SC, I think it will be better for us to move. Oso may lose some of the newest students, but his core group (me included) would follow him a much much longer way to learn from him.

Sucks that the schedule has become compressed, and it sucks that people don't seem to be willing to take responsibility for thier choices - stupid lawyers....
