US deputy defence secretary, Paul Wolfowitz:
"Let's look at it simply. The most important difference between North Korea and Iraq is that economically, we just had no choice in Iraq. The country swims on a sea of oil,"

The latest comments were made by Mr Wolfowitz in an address to delegates at an Asian security summit in Singapore at the weekend, and reported on Wednesday by German newspapers Der Tagesspiegel and Die Welt. (http://www.news24.com/News24/World/Iraq/0,,2-10-1460_1369424,00.html)

I guess Paul hasn't been logging onto KFM otherwise he would've known the invasion was about everything BUT oil.
 ;)

"Look, the primarily difference -- to put it a little too simply -- between North Korea and Iraq is that we had virtually no economic options with Iraq because the country floats on a sea of oil. In the case of North Korea, the country is teetering on the edge of economic collapse and that I believe is a major point of leverage whereas the military picture with North Korea is very different from that with Iraq. The problems in both cases have some similarities but the solutions have got to be tailored to the circumstances which are very different"

Reads very differently, doesn't it? Nice quote out of context, Design Sifu.

He was saying that they have to treat Iraq differently because economic sanctions weren't working because they have this money producing natural resource, NOT that the U.S. wanted that same money production natural resource for itself.

Whether or not that is true, perhaps we don't know, but the quote that you took out of context does absolutely nothing to show that that is the case.

Beat me to it, sh!t, you devious criminal fa jing.

Using out of context qoutes is a time honored liberal method of flaming. :p

How much you want to bet he keeps the quote the same. He has already used it in another post just as it is.
