The Lau Gar kuen set found in Hung Gar...Is this modified to fit the Hung Gar flavor or is it still in it's traditional form?

As far as I know it is the same set that is practiced in Lao Gar. As I remember there was traditionally two forms, Lao Gar Kuen and a weapon form... sorry if I'm not much help. Lao Gar Kuen is a very basic form with more advanced applications, though I assume you know it, it's the second form we learned at my hung gar school.

There are many stories about lau gar in hung gar. First, who brought it into the system? I have heard Wong Fei Hong, Lam Sai Wing and Lum Jo.

Also, I have heard that Lau Gar is famous for it's phoenix eye fist yet you don't see it much in the form.

All I can say is I like the lau forms. They are hardcore and do show a hung gar flavor. How that flavor got there is beyond my meager research.

I know of three forms. Lau gar fist, long pole and palm.

Thanks anyway. I do not study with Ken Hey do. I study with Johnny Jang, supposedly one of the earlier students of Wing Lam.

First, who brought it into the system?

I have also heard many different stories.

In my school Lau Gar is first form in the curriculum.
