what's the diff between calcium caseinate and whey in protein supplements? both are dairy-derived, and i know that casein brings the elemental calcium with it, but what's the rest of the story?

Casein disolves very slowly, so a meal containing casein will be followed by an almost continual, steady absorpsion of protein/amino acids into the body. It's a great way to stay anabolic. A meal containing casein makes a good bedtime snack since it will provide your body with the much needed protein throughout the entire night to avoid catabolism.
