So here I was surfing the internet when I came to MartialInfo.com. I was looking at the styles and interviews and came to Ninjitsu (notice the I there). Well, here are the names of the people interviewed. Look who's on top.

Ninja Masters (http://www.martialinfo.com/Styles/survey/name.asp?style=ninjitsu)

After reading Brief History, I thought "WTF did he just say? I think I just felt some brain cells dying..."

Who is the one person in your opinion that has made a great contributions to your art? Awkward question to answer with respectable humility, in that I - the writer - was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame in 1985 for my pioneering work of making authentic ninjutsu available to the western world. Really nobody else on that same sheet…

As per that Steven Hayes guy......

To my art personally, as I teach it, Joseph Campbell, because he taught me to see all the things I had learned symbolically and finally understand what it was all about." -AK

Back in the late 80's, I actually considered cooking up a scam like that. Now I kind of regret I didn't go for it.

Q: "At what age kids should start training in this style?"

A: "In olden times, training began after the child had demonstrated his innate will to survive by passing some sort of "test" like being tossed into a pond. Most babies can instinctively swim enough to make it to shore, the ones who struggled and sank were not allowed to drown, but were not taught the Art because these primitive traditions held that his "spirit would fail" at the critical moment"

i understand alot of different places/cultures(norwegians come to mind right away fro some reason) did this, teach their kids to swim by just throwing them in the water(of course keeping them drowning). maybe im wrong though.

Whales throw their babies in the water to learn to swim.

It's easy for whales, they're in the water already;)

"If they ask you to sing a hymn from your church, sing for them the theme from the television series Enterprise, Faith of the Heart, for that is OUR Anthem."

:D

Ashida Kim is the most austentatious nerd in existance. I love it.

Props to the anti-government message though. Each individual's religion should be whatever they want...Australia threatening to punish people for putting down Jedi is wrong...or it would be in the U.S. Aren't the people in Australia guaranteed freedom of religion?

"Faith of the Heart" is the worst song ever recorded. The man's got real class.

The wooden shoes is just one more weird prejudice the ignorant Americans have towards other countries;). japanese people don't wear kimonos, scottish people don't wear kilts, and Germans don't eat sauerkraut and würst all the time. It's just common sense:o

shaolin kungfu
06-14-2003, 02:16 AM
Actually, geisha girls do still wear kimonos(i think). Germans, at least the ones in milwaukee, do eat wurst, and brats, ALL the time, as long as they have beer to wash it down. :p

The same as the american prejudice for the other scandinavian countries (hell if we can tell you apart) - you're all dull, alcoholic socialists.

chen zhen
06-14-2003, 10:46 AM
Dull: yes

alcoholic: Mild word to use..:p

socialists: left-wing parties are weak here, the ultra-liberalists and extreme right parties are gaining popularity.

so, 2/3ds right..:D

chen zhen
06-14-2003, 10:51 AM
I have dark-brown hair. only like 1/4 of the danish population are blonde. I guess it's the same for the other countries.

ask me your prejudist questions, and watch me dispell the myths:cool:

But, you do all say "ya", right?

ya pronounced like ahhhh with a y.

chen zhen
06-14-2003, 10:57 AM
only germans say that. danes say "ja" (yes in danish..) with a very flat a. like when some americans say flat.

shaolin kungfu

The next question will be "is there any bears in scandinavia, or more specifically polar bears"?

No, the bear has been extinct from this region since the ice-ages, some 10000 years ago. so has the wolf.

"Does it snow all the time?"

No, we will be lucky if we get a white christmas 1 time in 7 years. mostly it rains during the winter.

"is it cold all the time?"

in the winter, yes. ordinarily cold. not in the summer. In fact, I sit stripped to my waist right now because I'm sweating like a pig from the heat. (just kidding, but it can be very hot)

Do you all have longboats, and raid irish villages?

a 1000 years ago, yes. Not irish, though, british.

I don't think most people here know much about vikings at all.

Former castleva

Plenty of brown bears, sometimes very close...
Plenty of wolves, wolves are a life threatening problem around some "rural" areas.

This is too great.
You see my cousin stops by yesterday and goes like "Hey,let´s go camping down there (=somewhere in the middle of nowhere) let´s stay the night etc. blah,blah...
Don´t take the dog,you might not see it again,blah,blah...
If we´re lucky,we can catch a bear,blah,blah...
I´m like "errr...uh,I´ll think about it..."..."No,you have to decide now&I´ll start collecting stuff..."

 :)

chen zhen
06-15-2003, 10:50 AM

Former castleva

chen zhen
06-15-2003, 12:37 PM
No. there's foxes, but they are not fun. Cows, Pidgeons, small birds of different kinds. Domestic animals: dogs, who **** all over the place in KBH.
soooo, no.
