Just for fun, I was wondering what ppl's favorite sport is. Could be interesting, seeing how there are many sports out there, and this being an international board, I thought it would be pretty cool to see.

Mine's BASEBALL.:)

Football (soccer, that is  ), ice hockey (go NHL!), handball (go Croatia, world champions 2003! :) ).

Kristoffer

yeah real football is great during the world cup. But I think hockey is more exciting. More action and it's a tighter game not 20 min to run to the other side of the field. It's alot faster.

The most suckiest sport's are:
curling
anything with horses

Wife Carrying (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/815978.stm)

"The winners claim prizes including the wife's weight in beer."

"The festival originated in the 19th century when it was common practice in Finland to steal women from neighbouring villages."

I'm half mexican, so I know what you mean by football. Although they spell it futbol. I love World Cup. It's the only time I go for Mexico. (born in the U.S. so i go for them for most other sports)

I like American football a lot too. Just wonder where did they get that name? Rugby has more contact with the foot then American Football.

Holy soccer.

But I appreciate sports that are enjoying little fame in America like hammer throw.

chen zhen
07-04-2003, 03:26 PM
So you only enjoy them for the fact that Americans don't like them, or because you think they are exiting to watch?

chen zhen
07-06-2003, 01:57 PM
the matches are usually over pretty fast, a couple o' bizzatch-slappins with their meaty arms, and then sometimes they fall on the spectators(*ouch*)

It's the stuff they do before that's boring (the stompin and the salt-throwing or whatever they throw.

Laughing Cow

Trial Bike races, not that indoor crap I am talking when they hit a forest and go over streams, around trees, etc.

Hill climbing races, distance not speed.

Cheers.

P.S.: Sumo is great, those guys got a LOT of muscles on their frames. Poor cardio, but lots of strength.

Little jap, listen..

No one talked sh!t about japanese ppl. I said 'Sumo sucks', this is my opinion. I think it's boring to watch and I make a joke about it. Then you call me a "low-class *****". What the hell did I ever do to insult you b4 this? And then you insult Surfer Dude after he CLEARLY was joking about Sumo. That's idiotic.

I have japanese friends and we joke around with eachother. Who the hell is racist?

you.
you are not only racist, you are too cowardly to own up to it. "oh no. some of my best friends are "X". I just love those different people." The classic racists excuse.

Stop being a p u s s y, and admit what you're about, or stop mouthing off like a racist *******. Spineless punk.

Kristoffer
07-20-2003, 01:44 PM
lol

I would be mad at ya but I'm to tired. I really don't see the point of this. YOU DON'T KNOW ME. I live in a project. ALL my friends are imigrants or children to imigrants. My girlfriend is chinese (:) ) And I have no idea why you are flaming me. If you insult me, my instinct is to insult you back. This is what I have been doing but from now on I don't care. I'm not gonna insult you back any further but you must understand that u can't FIRST insult someone outta no where and then get angry for me talkin back. Grow up
I'm not a racist and I get really offended by you calling me that

Former castleva
07-20-2003, 01:46 PM
Since when was it racist to call a Japanese a "Jap"?
I do not find it offensive at all to be called a Fin.
To express one´s opinion about a certain sport can hardly be considered racist either, can it?

Yung Apprentice
07-20-2003, 03:11 PM
I agree. But some places consider the word "jap" to be derogatory. And other places it's not. But my thing is, if the person using the word, is not using it in a derogatory manner, or with the intent of offending, is it still derogatory? There are many words out there that some ppl might consider derogatory, and yet other ppl might not consider the same words derogatory. So how can we be sure if it's derogatory or not? Unless the intent was to offend, there is no real way one can tell.

NOW LET'S GET BACK TO OUR TOPIC!!!!!!!:D

I was pretty good at American Football in high school and I try to play golf from time to time. I would love to learn to play rugby. That looks like a fun sport.

I am still a big American Football fan.

Ultimate Frisbee!!!!!
best sport ever!
Its like american football except when you get the frisbee you dont get tackled, you cant move and you have to throw the frisbee to one of your teammates, oh yeah no downs either, very fast paced.
Wushu is pretty cool to watch! I don't care what people say about it, those cats are really talented!

Kristoffer
08-01-2003, 01:37 AM
lol @ Ultimate Frisbee..

Reminds me of a game we had in gym called 'Retard Soccer'. Were you crawl around on your back and try to shoot a ball in the net. Hilarious

Ming Yue
08-05-2003, 01:03 PM
street basketball, pretty much any kind of fighting, and soccer

also I dig watching motorcycle trials when I can find them. But that's an activity, not a sport.

Kristoffer
08-05-2003, 01:30 PM
What leages of soccer do you follow Ming Yue? I myself is mostly interested in the world cup but I like the english more than the Italian leage for example..

Ming Yue
08-05-2003, 01:41 PM
I'll watch world cup, don't know enough to favor a specific league, it's just the most athletic, skill-requiring, hardcore sport I've ever seen and will stop and watch it whenever I come across it. :)

I played when I was little. little bitty left wing.

Yung Apprentice
08-05-2003, 01:45 PM
I love World Cup!!! I also follow some of the other cups too. My team is Mexico. (I'm half) And they beat Brazil recently!!!!!! (sorry Xebby:D )

Kristoffer
08-05-2003, 01:53 PM
Oh that's cool. So I guess Ming Yue support USA right?
Sweden is pretty good but they tend to start in the 'Group of Death' in every World Cup! Well, it adds for excitement atleast.

I'll just do some street playin somethimes. Never been part of a team. Oh but my neighbor (who's my age) have played for Manchester United for some time now, and now he's off to play with Red Star in Belgrad. pretty impressive..

Yung Apprentice
08-05-2003, 01:59 PM
I follow U.S.A too, since I was born and raised here, and my dad is white. But, I ALWAYS go for U.S. teams in every other sport, soccer is the only time where I follow the mexican team, more the the U.S. In boxing it's like 50/50. But I love World Cup soccer. I watch even the teams I don't like. But I mostly follow Mexico, U.S., Spain, and Ireland.

Kristoffer
08-05-2003, 02:07 PM
Yeah in the world cup u GOTTA watch all the matches :D To see how they perform, spot their weakness and such.
