The training is conducted in such a way that it is EXTREMELY ADDICTING.

Get the laudanum out of the gatorade, y'all.

We have pretty good InBreed technology in these parts.

Someone needs to help that man with some Flash/Java scritping. Having a .wav download after you click a button is pointless and annoying.

Actually Masterkiller, you will need to contact Macromedia about those concerns.

Macromedia does it just fine. I use rollover sounds/instances all the time with Flash/Fireworks/Dreamweaver. He has the .wavs downloading as separate files once the button is clicked instead of pre-loading the sounds so that they play when the button is clicked. It's pretty basic stuff.

That's dreamweaver-generated code in that page though. The wav file is embedded. It may be the way IE is setup to handle sounds too.

Whatever though. I always have been of the belief that if you are going to play a sound on a web page you should embed it in a flash movie, and give control over audio on/off.

Are we nerds or what. This has to be the lamest hijacking ever.

Wav. files should only play when the user wants 'em to. That's not my opinion, that's a fact.

Yea well i think .WAv files are sound!!!
What now!!!

.Wav files will play automatically if you link to them directly. Your RealPlayer/Quicktime/whatever program opens automatically and plays the downloaded file.

I think the problem here is he's using IE 3 code as his base. IE 4+ allows for preloaded sounds. Who still has IE 3 or below anymore?

But you are right. I like to use Flash when I have sound event, unless it's a streaming file, in which case I like to use .ram files for RealPlayer.

I don't think that's it because IE3 doesn't support the OnMouseDown event and that's what's triggering the whine.wav sound.

Yeah, you're right. That's 5+, I think.

It's actually IE4. IE5 added a bunch of functions I have never used, nor probably ever will, like OnBeforeUpdate.

Say - wasn't Nightbreed a moderately awful horror flick written and directed by Clive Barker? Why, yes, yes it was. (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0100260)
