can do push hands, and fa-jing I learned from Tai Chi, but from what I understand Xing Yi Quan animal forms, have certain aspects and purposes for health self defense. what other book would you recommend on developing advance internal power and understanding of the specfic forms in Hsing-i.

Dre Dogg X, just want to say it so it is said. A book is not even sort of going to replace even a bad teacher in an art like Hsing I. What state do you live in if you are in the USA?

But as Xingyi books go, I'd recommend this one (http://store.yahoo.com/martialartsmart/b-ym084.html). ;)

I know and I have a kungfu teacher but I dont think he does Xing Yi, he does several Shaolin styles and Tai chi though.

I hate to argue with a guy on his own forum, but if you're going to recommend books on Xingyi. Andrea Falk's translation of Li Tianji's book is the best book I've ever seen.

It's better than Tim Cartmell's and better done than any book I've seen out of YMAA.

I agree with fragbot. Li Tianji's book translated by Andrea Falk is the best book there is on Hebei Xingyi.

you cant learn from a book. Yes I taking boxing, so I use it fight, but Xing Yi Quan has so many applications based on theories, especially those animals. I dont wanna miss out. I wanna take Xing Yi QUan from a Xing yi Quan teacher. So do you guys know of any in Northern Indiana or Chicago Area
