Has anyone here met Al Colangelo, or seen any of his videos? Anyone?

it looks like he is doing some sort of free form "chan ssu chen".
the sound effects are just the microphone picking up his stop action movements as he pushes or strikes. it gives the illusion that there is something "Emitting" from him. aside from that the movements look nothing out of the ordinary. quite plain looking actually.

I thought I was supposed to see "something" coming off of him. And yes I would say it is some kind of "free form." At times when I am getting a good reaction after meditating and going straight into Tai Chi, I'll just break off and let happen what will. I think this is a topic that belongs over in the internal section of the boards. I have a question ... why is it that I see so many internalists that are overweight?

[/QUOTE] . I have a question ... why is it that I see so many internalists that are overweight?

Well its because they are constantly developing thier chi and also because they are drinking lots of beer:p

Well don't they need a place to store their chi?

Because everything gets internalised.

Actually most guys I see are quiet trim and wiry.

It is only the health orientated guys that are obese.

That's just digital garble from heavy compression of the video file.

The actual content of the clip looks very similar in nature to what I was taught as Shaolin Soft Hand.

That's a classic. I think it's a Carmen Miranda routine from one of the "Road" movies.

why is it that I see so many internalists that are overweight? Because they probably do not run, or skip rope, or do anything else cardio wise. Their forms are not very conducive to weight-loss, either...They blindly rely on their internal power to absorb all damage and keep air in their lungs after a 2 minute fight.

Sounds right to me. I got my belly cause I'm a lazy, hedonistic mofo.

I got my belly from a small open air market in Pakistan.

In answer to the question; has anybody seen Al Colangelo videos? I have seen the idiotic videos Monk Sets 1 and 2.
Monk Set 1, which he is so proud of is basically raising and lowering the arms, inhaling up exhaling down. Monk Set 2 is some reflexology and very sloppy tai chi. The guys a real clown in my opinion.
