hi,
i'm a big beleiver in taking lots of water when exercising. they say that when you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated. having said that i also listen to my body

and i find that in long chi sao periods, drinking water is the last thing on my mind, not only do i not want to do it and dont see any ill effects, but i actually feel like it would be harmful to me to do so.

from the external point of view i should drink water - but is there an internal aspect where it is better qi wise to not do so?

They also say that you should drink 8 full cups of water every day. I hope you don't believe that!

Yes...but you must FEEL the answer, and not ask for it. :p

What Ive heard is that once you put the thought in your mind that you are thirsty, a hormone (I forget the name now) is released into your body that says you need water and then your body will be affected.

So I guess if you dont think about being thirsty you should be fine.

Some personal trainers say to rehydrate for every 20 minutes of strenuous exercise.
