is boooooooshyt!!

lookie here, im putting $5 that Vanderlei gonna crush him

Xebsball
07-31-2003, 03:41 PM
you know why Vanderlei is better?
simple

Rampage is from USA, from the area where SevenStar is from

Vanderlei is from Brazil, from the south region where Xebby is from

yenhoi

Then clearly the guy from around sevenstar's area would win.

Too late.

GWB has announced that he wants to change the law to specify that a marriage can only be between a Man and a Woman.

Read that in the newspaper this morning.

Article (http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/world/ny-usgay313395657jul31,0,4924486.story?coll=ny-worldnews-headlines)

TW.

If accidents like that happen delete the first post(thread) and recreate it.

I wouldn't have noticed it except for your 2nd post on here.

Cheers.

For future reference, if you look at the bottom of your post, there's a button marked "edit." Surprisingly, it is possible to use this function to edit your posts.

Laughing Cow

CSN.

Post yes, but not the thread title.

Chang Style Novice
07-31-2003, 09:36 PM
Yeah, it is, if you catch it fast. And TW's first post is only a minute after his starting post.

truewrestler
07-31-2003, 09:37 PM
Some forums... actually I think those using the same product as here (vBulletin)... allow editting of the first post's subject to affect the thread title. There may be a setting for that or something turned off here though.

Chang Style Novice
07-31-2003, 09:40 PM
I'm tellin' you mayn, I myself have changed the title of a thread on this forum multiple times. I did it just today, in fact, correcting the typo Styz to Styx.

truewrestler
08-01-2003, 09:25 AM
well, it wouldn't let me edit the title (notice it changed in the subject of the first post) but maybe there is a time limit for that

Water Dragon
08-01-2003, 09:33 AM
Maybe the system just knows that you're a romo, so there was no need to change the thread title.

truewrestler
08-01-2003, 09:44 AM
or that... maybe it has gaydar?

red5angel
08-01-2003, 11:06 AM
I could take that guy. I just gouge out his eyes. Or better yet when he went for my legs I would just kick him.

truewrestler
08-01-2003, 11:27 AM
red5angel, you just triggered my gaydar ... you busy tonight?

red5angel
08-01-2003, 11:29 AM
hehe, seriously man, when he dives for my legs I could just grab his jaw and the top of his head and twist, snapping his neck, no problem. Better yet, just to be fair and play by the rules I could just stick my knee in his face and it would be over, especially if I put my dantien behind it.

LOL! just trolling you truewrestler, the guy looks hard as nails and he looks like he has some appreciable skill as well! I certainly would not want to run into the guy in a dark alley!

truewrestler
08-01-2003, 11:54 AM
****, didn't have my trolldar turned on

I thought you were kidding but since you brought up the old "snapping the neck" technique I thought I'd bring up that it is perfectly legal.

red5angel
08-01-2003, 11:58 AM
LOL! I just had to throw in some of the oldies but goodies there. As a matter of fact a while back, after discussing with MP about the whole takedown thing, I tried to work some of that stuff and I still can't figure out a comfortable way to stop a takedown at the legs except a sprawl, which I don't like ebcause I don't want to go to the ground. Punching and kicking MIGHT work but it's risky and defniitely no guarentee.
The kind of guy like this who can take a few shots and still come in on you scares the hell out of me cause I don't have the ground game yet to even think abotu fighting back! Of course you won't catch me in the ring with a guy like that either!

Punching and kicking MIGHT work but it's risky and defniitely no guarentee. The sprawl is just one of many tools. Really the tool is yourself. Once you get good at takedown defense the sprawl almost comes as a last resort... with your stance, hands/forearms, and hips being your first defense. Years of practice and competition really changes the way your body works.

I have seen some fighters actually knee and sprawl at the same time. Just think of all the techniques and strategies that have come about from MMA competition. I strongly believe it is a huge leap for martial arts.

part of what is hurting me on the takedown is that my footwork sucks. I have a lot of work to do on that. Using my hands and arms has worked on occasion for me but it isn't reliable. Not yet anyway.

It sounds to me like your really just need to practice and wrestle more. I mean it took me at least a couple years to get decent at takedown defense while training in the sport of wrestling where takedowns are 75% of the sport. I can't imagine how long it would take me outside of wreslting.

You should check out a local wrestling club.

I'm working on it. It's sort of a matter of priorities really. I have a freind who was sort of the high school and college wrestling star, good guy and any chance we get we work out together. He is the one who has taught me all about takedowns. Just takes time.

The scary thing is that he is improving his striking

I went to school with him... the way he got his start was actually odd - he had only had one fight locally, then the next thing you know, he got a call from pride. That was when he fought Sak.

SevenStar
08-01-2003, 01:06 PM
the thing is, I don't remember him. He and I have a mutual friend, and that friend swears that all three of us used to work out together, but for the life of me, I don't remember. Next time he's in town (he usually comes to watch my friend fight) I'll see if he remembers me.

you know what? I didn't know about any of those before sak, except for the first one against pyle - who is bada$$, by the way. he's a purple in bjj but has tapped browns and blacks. He's in denmark right now teaching bjj to a MT club there.

Ahhhh...what we have here is a RAMPAGE fetish....get serious, bro, how many UFC titles or Pride Championships has he won? And before you go asking me the same thing about MF, I said I would hate to meet him in a dark alley, that's MY opinion since the question was asked...

Frankly I think Rampage is a joke, and I often ask why they continue to highlight such an undisciplined fighter? I haven't sat down and watched EVERY mma event in the world, but to my recollection of Rampage he's either lost every match I've seen him in or he's gotten very lucky with the win...maybe he's better now, I hope so!

He's disciplined - he's a wrestler. His striking has been wild, but from what I'm hearing he's been doing alot of work in that area and in the sub area.

Regardless, he's not the one you wanna p!ss off. you odn't have to be "disciplined" to wreck shop
