Is there any difference between the two?

My Sigung, Feng Zhiqiang apparently learned Tai Ji from Chen Fake but also learned Xin Yi from another teacher.

Is Xin Yi the same as Xing Yi or are these different arts?

Xingyiquan came from Xinyi.

Xin Yi Liuhequan (Heart Mind Six Harmonies Fist) has no element forms, but the concepts of the five elements are included in the animal forms. The style has only 10 animals forms (Xingyi has 12), and it's been called "The cruelest (Is that a word?) martial art".

I am talking about the Henan Branch of Xin Yi Liuhe. There's also the Dai Family Xinyi Branch, which can be categorized as "Xing Yi Quan"

Thanks for all the great info guys.

Are Xin and Xing the same character or different characters?

It's hard to tell with all the possible romanizations out there.

'Xin'= the character for 'heart'

'Xing'= The character for 'form, shape'
