I haven't lifted in about 8 years and am seriously out
of the loop on curent fitness research.

an anyone make a suggestion as to a good program?
So far the Chad Waterbury workout looks interesting to me.

As of now I just do MA and a little Pilates.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanx, Peter

You could do worse than Waterbury's stuff although the tone in a lot of his articles irks me. :) What are your goals?

Muscular endurance with a little bit of upper body size
would be nice.

I'd also like to get my fat content down. I feel like
a piece of gristle even though I don't look too bad.
I really need to get my upper body back in good shape.

Are you still at BU Ford?

BTW - The tone of that article was pretty pompous.

Well, knocking the fat off is more a function of dieting and aerobics (I use this as a loose term to include running, wind sprints, jump rope, biking, etc).

Muscular endurance could be two things. The first is just bodyweight calisthenics like push-ups, pull-ups... which obviously aren't that intense and won't net you much ability for gaining muscle. The second is something like Chad's program or more commonly lifting in the 8-15 rep range which will net you some size. Diet still needs to be in order to gain mass as well though.

I never went to BU. I just lived by there. I'm out in Waltham now. ;)

Thanks for the info. I think I'll give Chad's stuff a go.
Got to do the labwork to get the results. If I don't like it
I'll come pick your brain again.
I'm also going to start sprinting to burn fat, found an interesting program in an old Muscle Media issue.

Waltham? Is the Iguana Cantina still open?
Good food and potent drinks never go out of style.

Stay well,
Pete.
