A farewell message

I received an email today from GDA saying that he and Shuul Vis have been banned from this site. :eek: :( :( I guess he asked why he was banned from another account and instead of getting a response, that account was banned too :eek:

Anyway, GDA wanted me to tell everyone farewell from him and Shuul. I told him to email me if he has anything special that he wanted to say. So, stay tuned...

GDA I can somehow understand he posted quiet a bit of questionable material (photos, etc).

Not sure about shuul vis, but than I didn't read many of hs posts.

Could be something to do with the hardcore BJ (and no, that's one J) vid link Shuul posted without warning, on the thread about ****ing his puppy.

However, GDA and Shuul both posted a lot of good and relevant kungfu and fighting stuff, so if they have been banned, I think it's wrong.

I think it's wrong to ban ppl without a warning. If given a warning one might realize what it is your doing and move on with more important matters.

I have a feeling GDA wil be back :)

c'mon guys, I liked them too but GDA sure as hell went way over the top, way too many times. fun and games is fun and games but the stuff he posted sometimes puts a real bad reflection on the board.

I don't see KL or anyone else here banning w/o just cause. I posted a link to that consumption junction place once and got an email telling me not to anymore. I'm sure GDA got a warning, probably several times.

oh I don't know Oso, I think there is a lot more offensive stuff posted that reflects badly on the board then GDA's goofin off. Atleast when he was fooling around it was obvious. Why aren't we banning on the people making fun of all those french deaths during their heatwave? How about those guys who spend 100% of their time onthis board trolling, and very obviously so?
At the very least it would be nice to know why they got banned so we know what to watch for.

There's a difference between the french death thing and posting porn clips or clips of people having their throats cut.

and again, as we have seen recently, what we post is not really up to us.

my main point was that I doubt GDA was banned w/o warning. irrelevent of your or my opinion on what he posted I'm sure he was given due notice to cease or else.

I like GDA. But for those of us who post from work, linking to a BJ site or something similiar can get us in a lot of trouble or fired = no money to buy Gene's products.

First of all, banning is a simple flick of a switch and un-banning is just as easy. Both GDA and Shuul Vis were warned privately about posting porn, just as we warn anyone. Since their banning, they have both apologized and we are considering un-banning them after a probationary "cooling off" period.

On the whole, we are very lenient about banning, but there are two things that will make us ban someone uncatagorically - posting porn and a certified 'cease and desist' letter from a lawyer. We've banned a few for too much profanity in their flames too, but not as often. In the history of our forum, we've probably only banned less than two dozen people.

As for posting porn, as I've said a hundred times, this is a family show. Please don't post anything that you couldn't show on late night TV (non-cable TV). We can forgive the occasional slip up with a link from some site - I've even made that mistake myself. But keep in mind that the CEO of Tiger Claw, our parent company, surfs this forum on occasion, alongside my direct boss, Publisher Gigi Oh, and if they stumble across porn, then they'll ask me why the hell we are paying all this money to keep this forum running if it's posting porn. That puts my in a very awkward position since I've worked really hard to keep this baby financially afloat. So please, no porn.

Frankly, if you're looking for internet porn here on www.KungFuMagazine.com, you are waaaaay off target. It's be like looking for real kung fu behind the green door. :p
