Just wondering why my instructor prohibits anyone from ever touching the center horn on the lion costumes. Is it considered disrespectful, or to bring some type of ill effects?

Because the "tip" is more sensitive.

Awful.

It will cause your genitals to shrivel and fall off if you touch it. Just ask MK.

all the mojo lives in the horn. superstition dictates to not mess with the joo joo and so don't touch the lions horn.
people who still wear grass skirts have strong faith in the lions joo joo powers. so keep your grubby paws off. lol

After a lion is awakened the horn represents the bond between the lion, the Sifu, and the school. The lion represents your school and Sifu and is often considered to incorporate some of the highest level of kung fu. To pat the horn or to touch the horn is like patting or touching your Sifu's head. In the limited exposure I've had to asian cultures it seems in many southeast asian cultures that for someone junior to touch or pat someone senior or even worse thier father on the head is disrespectful and insulting at least depending on the intent I assume.
