I was just wondering what the swords on this months issue are called.

Can these swords (or something similar) be bought anywhere?

If memory serves, Zhong used one of ours - specifically the lion head (http://store.yahoo.com/martialartsmart/45x36cs32.html).

BTW, he gave our publisher Gigi one of his robes as a gift. I'm still trying to convince her to kick that down to me, since she would never wear such a thing....

... but I don't think a male Taoist robe is her style. We actually got it because we were looking for a robe at the time for some other shoot and Gigi mentioned it to Zhong in an offhand way, then he gave her the robe off his back, quite literally. Nice guy.

Gigi, do the right thing ... give Gene the robe.

Gene: the priest seems like a nice man, but being the martial representative of Wudang and choosing that sword for a cover shot, his build, leaves me to wonder ... how was his skill?

I just finished reading that article at lunch. The man certainly has a lot of experience, but there's just something about him that doesn't seem too bad a$$. Ever get that feeling? That Taiji guy who's been showing up in all the magazine's lately -- broad shouldered, "that" look in his eye -- he seems like a wrecker. But there's a flair or hint of Wushu to the Wudang in this issue.

Do you get to play with all these guys you interview? Man, it's got to be more exciting writing about martial arts then floor covering. I'm working on a piece about Blockbuster using laminate floors .... STOP THE PRESSES:rolleyes:
