Ryu,
I was reading a book on Judo by Jimmy Pedro called, "Judo Techniques and Tactics." Working with some friends, I've managed to get most of the throws to work but I have trouble chaining them together. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind giving me some advice on how to figure out some combinations of chokes/throws/holds. Perhaps some that you use or ones you like.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Zen_Celt,

Well I can try to give some pointers, but in order to really get some good combos down I think working out at a dojo is the best answer. :)

But here it goes,
Well a combination I like is from hiza guruma to osoto-gari. When trying to unbalance your opponent, firmly pull his balance towards you and to the side. Not directly towards you

But before he places his foot down to hold his balance, block it with your foot and use your arms like you are steering a car with both hands.
If you've got good kazushi (balance) you'll probably sweep him right over, but if he tries to hop around with his weight on that one foot you are trying to block, immediately shift your weight forward and to your side, and catch him with osoto gari.
This is a pretty good combo I've used. You can also try combos from hiza guruma to seoi nage (more difficult) or counter moves which I like a lot especially when the opponent turns to apply seoi nage you drop your weight a bit and immediately grab him with ura nage or ushiro goshi (my favs)

I'll post some pics too.
