Ideally, yes. I would prefer to be more productive. However it has more to do with lack of opportunity to produce with my present job, then the availability of distractions.

Remember, you're a goof-off kid in this game, like I was at that age. While I'm at the peak of my capabilities, and would prefer to work hard all day long in order to have the most success possible, and feel a sense of accomplishment. I'm not going to have this same level of energy, motivation, and mental acuity forever. That's why I'm looking for a new job. Consulting is the pits. I hate to think that I'm spending all day being somewhere and not producing much.

Most of the managers and higher ups I've seen though, agree with you completely.

I have a job with no sense of accomplishment, but I make my own hours and make too much money to quit, so I sit here and play online 7.5 hours a day, go home at 4, and then work out (or play John Madden, which ever comes first).

Getting back to the subject. The perspective changes when you're signing the front of the check and not just the back. If you don't care about getting ahead or feel that what you do doesn't make a difference then its easy to find yourself with ST surfing over to mentalmasterbation.com to kill some time.

You are a bafoon. Tribal elder indeed. More like village idiot. BTW, "compay" , for every one person at versailles that is patting you on the back there are two that are drawing crosshairs on your forehead. Duck and cover, baby.

Next time you're in Miami , ask Joke Corrola, if anybody ever found those 65 million dollars that "disappeared" from the Miami budget. You are the lap dog of one of the most notedly corrupt political groups in the US. Gimme a break.

Ladies and gents, if that isn't an exhibition in "Drama", then I'm mistaken about the definition of the word..

lmao @ "worthy"! "befitting"! Who sounds like a Queen?

For no apparent reason, you jump subject to Cuban Americans, which if I recall correctly you have said repeatedly that you didn't want me to talk about.. (see hypocracy..)

for every one person at versailles that is patting you on the back there are two that are drawing crosshairs on your forehead. Duck and cover, baby.

-This one leaves me baffled, as I can't connect how being a fundraiser for Cuban refugees is going to get me assasinated by a sniper. Anyone else see a connection? Did you take your medication?

Next time you're in Miami , ask Joke Corrola, if anybody ever found those 65 million dollars that "disappeared" from the Miami budget. You are the lap dog of one of the most notedly corrupt political groups in the US. Gimme a break.

Again not quite sure how my connection to Joe as a fundraiser equates to any relationship with him in a political sense. I do know the guy, but only as an aquaintance, a connection to open doors for events, contacts, contributions etc.

Unlike you, I run a school in one of the major mecca's of martial arts, not a little obscure place no one has ever heard of. I am quite sure I am a sifu, I've earned the right. And again, I can TRACE MY LINEAGE back to famous names, and you?

In which, your next breath goes to belittling them. Again, something the board at large will not remember.

Oh, yeah, money, It all comes down to money. You go on your little tourist vacation and get a photo op will little juanito , patting him on the back and slipping him a dollar. Your are so generous. Its amazing. And you've even been 50 yards outside the tourist zone. What an accopmplishment. Its nice you can throw money at them so easily, unfortunatly it never really gets to them. Its people like my middle class granma that has gone at least 12 times to deliver clothes, meds, glasses, shoes, and many other items of need to her family and friends in her home town, that have nothing, and do not benifit at ALL from your endevour. Thats of coarse after the cuban customs have had their fill of the booty. Your calling yourself a tribal elder and rattling off the charities you support is sickening mental masterbation. Something I would expect from a Wendy Whitebread like you to do. When you joke about how a communism free cuba is a myth that will never happen and chastize those whom still say and believe and hope "viva cuba libre", you are spitting on my grandfathers grave. He died still beleive in it. I will honor that. THAT is personal. PRAY I never meet you face to face. Because it won't be an amature san shou match.

Ross, glad you can make it., your face? anytime, remember boy, I don't punk out to your credentials, you can ask ventura about that.

You never answered my question, does your teacher believe as you do that lama pai is an outdated and useless practice? Yes or no, richard. Its funny how your lineage and gung fu is important when it suits you . Yet, in the next breath you are dissming the very same systems. you are a sell out. You are doing what your doing because its easier to have people hit a bag for an hour instead of taking the time to teach them a kung fu that they won't appreaciate. and I bet you're making alot more money too.

Accomlpishments of my own? I've never seen you at ANY of the major world level tournaments that happen yearly in florida. If you ever did leave new jersesy , you would have had to compete , and lose, to me. I've had plenty of awards. The last time I competed I beat out tat wongs main student, steve chins top student, and 34 other top kung fu guys from around the world. Where were you? My guys took ALL the blackbelt fighting. I also train fighters. I am a fighter. Make no mistake. I'm in califirnia now. The guys still with my teacher are still kicking azz in florida.

As for teachers lineage, how's chan kwok wei for starters. I have great respect for your teacher. Its his student that is a bit of a tool.

The sheer irony of a cuban-american ragging on me for raising money and contributing time and love to a good cause is probably lost on most of the forum but I can appreciate it!

It all comes down to money.

Money has very little to do with it. It's about caring for family friends and strangers, culture, human rights. money just helps us do these things to a greater extent.

Its nice you can throw money at them so easily, unfortunatly it never really gets to them. A-hole, sorry, I mean ABEL, seem to get those two so easily confused....

Since I teach people to FIGHT, just like my teacher did, using techniques he taught me, why don't you answer the question for yourself mr traditional?

I know, anything more than a grade school concept and I guess you can't grasp it.

Does it upset you that I make a LOT of money? As opposed to YOU?

I love your "tough guy" image, backed up by your FORMS wins! LMFAO, pathetic. BTW my friend, ever hear of the NACMAF international tournamnet? I placed there every year, along side the toughest competitors in Chinese martial art history (Hung Stewart, Jason Wong, Daneil Tamazaki, etc).... maybe you are just too "Johnny come lately" to know who they are.....

So, as a fighter, you are a great forms player? Thanks for the laugh....

"My guys took ALL the blackbelt fighting"

POINT SPARRING... big deal, you can slap fight eachother to death. What big men you all are.

When was the last time your boys fought boxing, Muay Thai, San Shou, San Da, MMA? Didn't think so.... Big in the girls under 8 pool...

Why don't any of your tough guys enter the November San da tournament? I have fighters in EVERY WEIGHT CLASS. We'll see what happens. My prediction; two sounds (1) us hitting your guys and (2) your guys hitting the floor....

You are the toughest forms guy who talks tough on the internet I've ever met.... that's quite an accomplishment

By the way, I don't live in NJ

\ButFloss, er Ross
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,

Way to avoid the question. He taught you all kinds of kung fu and you don't teach what he taught. Period. You teach your people smatterings of this or that and call it san shou. And, you downplay the very arts you draw from. Yet when provoked you don the lineage robes and waltz out the king of kung fu. And I'm the hypocrite? I don't see how.

You didn't learn how to use a bat as a weapon in baseball camp.

Next, we don't do point sparring. So you can shove that tag slap ****.

Daniel Tamazaki, Tat wongs main student,. Yes I've beaten him . He took second to me in 96. I guess you thought I meant someone rescently. After 21 years, Johnny come lately I'm not. The fighting was contact and continuous. By then , like you, I was coaching. I did mention that as my last major tourney. Back in the "day" people did forms, weapons AND sparring as a complete tourney. It only in the past few years that people have become "specialist" and do only one or the other.

The world does not revolve around You, Although some have said you could be a sattilite. When is your next southern california trip? Do you ever leave the North east? It doesn't seem so. Perhaps you and I can have an exibition. Two old timers, crudge match.

As far as STfool , I have nothing to add. As far as I'm concerned no matter how you sweeten it, it still tastes like ****.

You talk a lot of smack, from the safety of behind a key board. I was in San Jose, that's southern California my friend, in July for a SAN SHOU event. Didn't notice you or any of your so called "champions" there

You DO do point sparring, continuous slap fighting at best. Again, WHEN have your guys done san shou, san da, boxing, Muay thai or MMA?

Like most of the pathetic forms obsessed wannabe's you talk about being a fighter but you play tag, like I said, you are the big fish in the girls 8 year old's pool

I guess you are pretty desperate for attention, bitter you are a no one, upset at success stories like mine. So I'll pitty you....

I think I stuck a nerve. You haven't directly answered the question. I'll spell it out for you again. Read slooooooooowly.

Does your teacher think, like you do, that traditional MA, in your case lama pai, is outdated and useless?

These are your words, own up to them. Avoid this question again and it will be obvious that you are in a catch 22. You seem to like to have it both ways. Both supporter and detractor.

San Jose isn't exactly southern cali. You may be a PHD in asian studies (talk about a waspy degree) But you seem to have failed geography. Maybe you were holding the map upside down. San jose is more NORTHERN California. Read slowly. Its around 400 miles away.

When you can visit us Po' folk down here , Let me know. Since you're so confident in my lack of skill it should be no contest. I see now why you are so fat, you need all that space for your bloated ego. Frankly, I would wipe the floor with you. Whats funny is that you would probably and actually go into a fight with me believing your own BS that I must be just another *** tag fighter. Man, the look of surprise on your face would be worth the price of admission. I'm game, what-da-ya-say.

" I'm a great success, I have a billion students." "I'm king of all the useless kung fu." " I know everything and everyone." " I even know about people I've never seen." "I'm the only one in the world that teaches fighters." "Everyone is so beneath me."

You really should read your own scribble. To me you sound like a spoiled whiney brat that had his favorite toy removed from his grasp and you kinda look like it too. Yeah , yeah, "i teach fighters", blah, blahbiddy , blah.

Please explain to me how you are not a sell out. Did you have as many students when you taught kung fu? I did have a sample of how lama pai is taught through ventura. So you can't say I've never seen your styles or you methods in action. Its nice you've managed to collect a few tough guys that would otherwise be doing another venue instead of yours. Those guys would be tough regardless. It must be sweet, teaching kung fu, without actually teaching kung fu. The students almost work themselves.

With every post, Abel demonstrates beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is a pathetic loser who has numerous issues and who can't stand those with achievement.

Calling me a "wasp" is pretty f-in funny. I suppose you think the white world is out to get you? I notice you have issues with people making money? Perhaps you are a communist? Do you think there is a mythical "man" out to get you perhaps?

You have listed with pride your "international" titles, in FORMS. Whhhooooppppdie DOOOOO.... forms titles, from "international evnets", ie in Florida an "international" event is one in which there are competitors from Miami, Orlanda AND Jacksonville!!!!! My what an accomplishment

I think when my student beat the Brazilian national San Shou champion to win a bronze in the united world event that that was a true international title.

Of course, that was FULL CONTACT, not the continuous slap fighitng you seem so proud of

I am coinfident in your lack of skills because I know people who know you. Your only skill is to ramble on here.... in THAT you are truly the master....

You've never met me, so one wonders why you think I'm "fat". I'm 5'8" and around 184 right now. I'm not frank shamrock but I spar every day and work out every day, and I'd burry you. But you have your "dim mak" and dealy monkey paw don't you? LMFAO

Yeah, I'm a sell out, every month I sell out my available memberships. Every time I run an event I sell out the venue. And my aren't you so bitter in your failures?

I have much more important things to do than argue any further with a clueless sociopath such as yourself. But you have a nice day :)

It seems avoidance is key here.

How about putting your body where your mouth is and prove it.

I'm also 5'8" I weigh 200 pounds. I also workout everyday. I look a **** site better than you. And, I have all my hair. :p You see , unlike you, my back is wider than my belly.

Remember something, ventura saw me 12 years ago at the begininmg of my kung fu career, I was 165 then ,a slim 23 year old. We didn't "slap" then and we don't "slap" now. That is the only person you could know that knows me. And if it was him I'd like to know how he comes about saying that when he saw us knock each other around for several months.

Again, prove it, when is your next trip to southern cali, Oh I forgot you don't know how to read a map. Its the part that has Los angeles on it, ok boo-boo. Look for L.... O.... S..........A...N...G...E...L...E...S read slowly L.... O.... S..........A...N...G...E...L...E...S

How about somebody do a pay per view on it. Anyone out there in the bizz? It will be short , I promise. You can put other bouts on the card. Call it the battle of the bloated (you) and the beautiful(me). Have some telecom company fund it. Or call it E-Grudge, internet match special.

So you are too chicken to fight me , is that it?

I'm game. Bring it.

Question to the audience, did ButFloss Ross answer my question? I don't think so.
All he's said so far is that his teacher taught him something. Thats not the question. Read above if confused.

So now I'm a sociopath jealous of his "accomplishments" like he's napoleon or something. Don't make me laugh. I couldn't care less that you have many students, So does your average TKD superplex. Big la dee da. My pet peave with you is that you heavily draw upon kung fu for your students training then turn around and down play kung fu as some folk dance , then turn around again and make lineage such a big deal right after you've finished dissing it all in the same breath. All that turing should make you a bit dizzy. I'd say you, my fine feathered friend, are the biggest true hypocrite on this board.
I bet most of your own students could kick your ass too.

In true fashion , you down play form work yet you're proud to be such a champion of it yourself. As far as weapons, you didn't learn to use a bat at baseball camp. I wonder where your students think all this comes from? The propaganda brainwash is so thick you can paint the walls with it.

I'm giving you a chance to, once and for all, put me in my place and now you're back pedaling faster than a circus clown on a unicycle.

I can't be the only one on this board that sees this the way I do. Anybody?

lkfmdc,

Seriously, if that is you in the pic, Abel has you by sheer physical conditioning alone.

Also, you do seem to be COMPLETELY avoiding his question, AND avoiding his challenge.

Also, why do you say that he's just a forms, and point competitor?

Here are some of his comments

My guys took ALL the blackbelt fighting.

Why do you say he just does point fighting again??

Now, you say this:

I have answered you, you are just too dense and desperate for attention to notice....

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I reread this, and I don't see any answers from lkfmdc on anything.
Only accusations that Abel can't fight, and lkfmdc is a fighting God.

Do you teach Lama anymore Mr. Ross? Do you teach Gung-Fu at all or just beat up on it here?
Is it just a lure to get people to your gym where you tell them Gung-Fu is nonsense and sell them on a San Shou program?
I'm interested, because I don't see any Gung-Fu training on the posted schedule.

If you no longer believe in TCMA fine. Why as a traditionally trained Sifu, with claims to wonderful lineage, **** all over TCMA in a rather public manner? Especially when you clearly state that San Shou is a mere component of CMA study.

Are you going through a mid life crisis or something?
So much of what you say doesn't add up.

You talk crap about Tradionalists and there are many good ones in NY who are not "fantasists", nor "ineffective" and certainly do not shy away from proving themselves physically. IMHO, this is not news to you I'm sure. So for the love of God start showing
CMA a little respect here and there.

Actually, he dropped his lead guard in BOTH pics I posted. That's why I posted them. He's suposedly a San Shou guy, but apparently he's teaching TKD's bad habits. I bet his primary art was originally TKD. It clearly shows in his kicking tactics.

What it looks like he's doing is torqueing his body to
get more power into his kicks.
His kicking form reminds me of Peter Aerts of K-1 fame
who is a very effective kicker.

Royal Dragon
10-05-2003, 03:18 PM
Arms locked, by his ass = TKD

I'm not judgeing his fighting, or how well he does it, I'm judging his "Style" which appears to be TKD seeing as how he's using a classic TKD round kick. A real CMA would not be locking his arm out behind his ass like that either. TKD however trains thier students to do that so it's easy for the opponent to clobber them in the head after sucking up the kick.

As for the hip tourqueing deal, again, TKD is known for exactly that.

Merryprankster
10-05-2003, 03:23 PM
Well, I don't know what the CMA "right" way is, but Dave's kick is very close to the thai style round kick and MANY practitioners counterbalance their torque by bringing the same side arm back for a quicker recovery.

The opposing arm stays high or comes clear across the face to parry any incoming head shots, as a counter-right hand to the jaw is a common response.

So, sorry to disappoint--whether you like the picture or not--whether you like Sifu Dave or not, this is a legitimate way to throw a round kick that works quite nicely. Generations of thai ringfighters across the world who have walked in and out of the ring for round after round of punishment have used it rather well--Peter Aerts included.

RD--don't know what TKDer's you've come across...all the ones I've known who never did anything but TKD all chamber their kick and don't turn it over for good hip torque.

Merryprankster
10-05-2003, 03:26 PM
I might also point out he keeps his shoulder high to help protect his chin.

Anyway, this is all quite standard in thai boxing. I've never seen TKDers do it. But, whatever.

Royal Dragon
10-05-2003, 03:31 PM
TKD turns it over too. They are just more snappy tap, tap about it.

I really don't care if Muy Thai guys do that too. Those guys have the body hardness needed to fold someone with a shot like that. Also, they really don't seem to chamber too much. Their round kicks look more like a baseball bat swinging for the home run.

Still, if your going to drop your guard, and leave your head wide open like that, don't be shocked if your opponent takes it off and hands it to you on a platter.

Merryprankster
10-05-2003, 03:38 PM
Umm. I'm pretty familiar with the way MT guys throw their kick, but thanks. His looks nothing like the way most TKDers kick, as far as I can tell. Perhaps you have a different experience, but I'm betting you're just being difficult. The snappy ness comes from that chambering thing they do. Of course, the advantage is that it disguises the kick... horses for courses...

And that's why I said a counter right/left hand is a common way of attacking somebody as they kick you. If they DON'T bring their opposing arm to block, then you eat it on the jaw, maybe go down. If you do, at least it interrupts the kick.

Royal Dragon

Abel, are you now smoking crack? No Bagua dude beat me up. Email Dixon Fung for your answers if you want.....

Point sparring/slap fighting/patty cake.... Abel and his crew have never done any real fighting. It's been asked a million times here already, what Muay Thai, boxing, San Shou, San Da or MMA has he done? He's nicely avoided that question about four times now.

I was also in SAN DIEGO in 2000 and 2001, oh, I bet that isn't southern california either? That was also San Shou events, didn't see abel there either....

I thought MA were supposed to develop the "no-mind" where nothing can unbalance/affect them and where they start to rise above petty little fights, school-yard challenges and similar issues.

I was always taught that you judged a MA not by how many fights he won but by the way he lived his life and solved problems/confrontations and interacted with people around him.

To be honest I am saddened to see this charade being performed by what are supposed to be seasoned and experienced MA and Sifu.

Just some thoughts naturally.

Actually, martial arts is about petty Ego boosting, puffed up grandious titles, lineage, secret deadly techniques only the privliaged few get to learn, making the next rank and getting certifed to be the next and only super source of the only "real", effective secret Kung Fu style there is, because your teacher's teacher's teacher was some sort of super Godlike being that developed the ultra ooperdooper fighting way of enlightement and peacefull bickering over implied respectlines, and Master worship.

Is that a "No"?

Really, you will be back in town for san shou, san da, sandwich, I don't care.

You were in San Diego twice, when is your next time?

Its a simple question, even a big bad dingleberry like you can say, "I'll be in SD on X day, be there." Instead, we get the typical "I've set up an unlikely situation that will keep me from getting my azz kicked and still make me sound like the shiznit."

You would soil your shorts if I actually went to the time and trouble of getting all that money and time together just to kick your red headed step child butz around a ring.

I don't need a big bad tournament. I'll drag you by the few hairs you have left to the parking lot.

When are your students going to be fighting lennox or arguello? Never? Tuesday? Christmas?

Do you need a mirror? I must be hard to walk backwards all the time.

meh...

Proof positive that the average martial arts practioner is much more interested in being correct than being skilled.

In all honesty i hardly think this is doing either of you any good.

Your both (apparently) respected martial artists from good sifus with very popular schools. Yet here you both sit exchanging pages and pages of frivilous insults and ego centric posturing.

To the average jo reading this comes accross as simply a massive waste of time and an obvious case of two guys both beating on there own chests for recognition.

Im sure you will both be quick to put me in my place and tell me to stay out of this but you might also consider your not having this argument in private. You have both choosen to do this in one of the most public fashions possible and as such you are both now in the firing line.

PS i think the kick was actualy very nicely executed, the hands might be dropped but they obviously didnt need to be up at that moment so who cares?
The trick to contact kicking (ime) is that you do get more power out of the kick by using your arms (watch Hoost). The trade off is obviously less defence but if your sure of your kick what difference does it make?

I will also say the kick did look to be heavily Thai influenced to me, i would be interested in knowing if the method used is the same?
Maybe i could pose the question... Do you guys keep your leg relatively strait thoughout the kick and swing it like a baseball bat or do you chamber the kick up first?

My thai boxing friend tends to go with the baseball bat method and he can pack an ammazing amount of power into his kicks, they also look a lot like the kicks posted.

Among other things, Abel can't read and comprehend the English language....

Muay Thai has a world championship, it's last one had 79 teams from 79 nations attending.

San Shou has a world championship, it's last one had 86 teams from 86 nations attending.

EACH sport, San Shou and Muay Thai has its own world championship. Both are IOC recognized. They are real sports, not black blet kung fu slap fighting.....

I'd say us fighting in Madison Square Garden in teh finals of the NYC Golden Gloves is a hell of a lot more impressive than your "world title" because you beat someone from Jacksonville FL!!!

Now, please answer the questions;

When have you fought in a REAL contact sport; San Shou, San Da, Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, MMA?

When have your students fought in a REAL contct sport?

What have you achieved in REAL fighting world, not Florida's match box "world" tournament....

Shaolin-D, first off, I don't need a pen.i.s enlarger in any way thank you.... Abel, well, I hear he drives an expensive sport car so you draw your own conclusions

Look at this thread, Abel went out of his way to attack me at the beginning of this thread. I wasn't even involved in this thread. I wouldn't have even noticed had someone not let me know. My response was simple, who are you to talk crap about me?

To which, being the insecure idiot he is, he challenged me. The tried and proven method of the internet troll and the insecure. Abel's in CA so he talks tough and challenges me to come to LA to fight him.

Yeah, right, whatever, I'm going to spend money to come to LA to beat up the international forms champion of Florida....

He talks tough but he doesn't back it up in any way. He challenged me to a ring fight, I said FINE, find a promoter and pay me... he backed away so fast it left TRACKS....

He wants me to post my daily schedule so if by some chance I happen to be near him he MIGHT show up... LMFAO, yeah, whatever....

I train fighters. I train champions. My school is known for producing some of the best combat athletes in a variety of sports. I'm teh student of a very famous teacher. I've been in many magazines, I'm advisor to many international organizations. Do you think China and Japan would invite my fighters to their events if we couldnt' fight? Do you think we'd make it to the finals of the Golden Gloves if we couldn't fight?

It's really clear, Abel is the no one with no accomplishments who has a variety of sociopathic issues

He attacks ST for some sort of "betrayal" of some sort of community in attacks I"m sure NO ONE understands what the hell he is talking about

He attacks me for making money (must be a COMMUNIST)

He calls my education "waspy" (I supposed he is opposed to education, as a feature of "white society" ie the "man" out to get him... BTW, I am not a wasp in any way LMAO

I've asked him point blank what full contact fighting he has done, answer is SILENCE.... he hasn't done any.

Who is he? he is NO ONE... a bitter sociopath hoping to get some attention. He needs counseling probably

Did you try some of the flan down here WD? We gots delicious mexican cuisine.

Coach ross, I understand what you are saying, and bravo for your accomplishments. But would it not have been easier to say "cool abel, think what you will. Next time Im there, or youre here we can meet and possibly touch hands. Good day."
Everyone here knows what you have done, you dont have to brag about it.
Imagine you are one of your students and re-read this thread. Not very befitting, is it? You are an accomplished sifu, and I commend you on that, but it seems that the word "humility" has escaped you for the moment.
Yesterday I sat and had tea with a buddhist monk. He said to me "I can be the teacher and you can be the teacher. We can learn from each other." Get from that what you will.

It is important to remember, if you meet the Buddha on the road, you have two choices 1) you can kill him or 2) you can offer him Flan.... which must you do? I can't tell you, you must decide for yourself.... :p

Shaolin-Do
10-06-2003, 08:27 AM
Why would I want to kill the buddha?
Ill take my flan thank you very much. Maybe a small glass of enlightenment to wash it down. ;)
But really, re-read it. Theres not much point to the argument is there? You both already know what each has and has not done for the most part, no need to reiterate. You've made very intelligent and informed posts, articles demonstrating your rhetorical ability, you should keep the public view of you to that level. Not bickering senselessly on the internet about who will beat who. We all know theres only one way to really figure that out, and its not going to happen, so why care? You both have tried to say that the other is meaningless, what they say is empty, ect, yet you still respond? If if meant nothing you would ignore it, which would be the wiser decision anyhow. Show what a well educated and informed person you are, not that you can thump your chest louder.

Love the spin job.
But it is irrelevant.

"Yeah, right, whatever, I'm going to spend money to come to LA to beat up the international forms champion of Florida...."

You don't have to spend an extra dime. You are here anyway on San shou business. You've already mentioned that you've been here two years in a row. You sorta screwed yourself on that one. All I want is to know when you are here NEXT. Talk about a ***** answer, "pay me".

As far as money is concerned, its great that you are making monkey OFF of your students, but how much are they making? Will we see any of them on HBO fightnight? Probably not.

So far you are just sitting there trying to tap dance around this by putting your students, your success, and your teacher in front of you to cushion the blow. What does any of that have to do with you fighting me at the next opportunity?

What do you hope to accomplish by just saying "oh he's a nobody that can fight, so I won't bother." Pretty safe position. You think I just going to go away or something? guess again. Since when does monetary success mean YOU are a good fighter? Since when is haveing a great teacher mean YOU are by default a good fighter. You haven't mentioned the titles you have won personally.

Does anyone else know when the next san shou match will be in San Diego or LA?

And for those that are surprised at the behavior, don't be. A "sifu" is just a guy that teaches kung fu. He is just as fallible, just as human, as everybody else, Sorry to burst your bubble. There are few saints, knights or monks in our ranks.

For those that just joined us, this is what ross is reacting to:

"I'd like to know how your jow ga teacher would react to you saying in effect that his style is useless. And that goes for many other s here, *cough* ross *cough* cough* "

Something you have yet to address dirctly. One of many things you have to address directly.

I like this bit here. More questions ignored.........

Bai He--
"Do you teach Lama anymore Mr.

Especially when you clearly state that San Shou is a mere component of CMA study."

Oh, a little small tid bit...... The tourney I mentioned was one of many. The 34 people I had to beat on that particular day came from hong kong, south america, europe, mainland china, south africa, west and east coast USA, japan, among others. I didn't fight in that particular tourney because I was The COACH for that team. But none of that has anything to do really with me being in your face next time in San Diego.

"A "sifu" is just a guy that teaches kung fu. "

Im sorry that you feel this way. From what Ive been shown a sifu is to lead his students by example as well. A martial artist should be a scholar, and in turn show their scholarly ambition. The petty bickering between the 2 of you is what helped make the WWF what it is today. Not sure if youve noticed, but to put it bluntly, you're both just p!ssing in the wind.

I'm sorry if the impression you're getting is tainted. But I don't live in a fantasy world. Nobody is perfect or anywhere near it. I won't delude my students into thinking I'm some sort of god. Id more or less call this an instructor. Not a sifu. IMHO Sifu should carry a positive connotation, not an egocentrical one. Behaviors are learned, and if you're going to teach...

"I won't delude my students into thinking I'm some sort of god."

Well, thats good. But that doesnt mean you should behave like an 8th grader. Either of you.

"Its repugnant to me when I see students in some cult MA idol worship."

This saddens me as well, and shows the ineptness of the student, and the self grandizement of a teacher. I dont expect anyone to be perfect, I know Im not. Id just expect a sifu to show a bit more civility.

"I'm sorry if the impression your getting is tainted."
Im reading exactly whats being written. Without knowing either of you, your behavior you exhibit here is more or less my impression of you. If this isnt the way you wish to be viewed, maybe a change in the way you verbalize yourself is in order?

"Or to not question what you believe to be wrong."
Did you mean bicker about who is better?

"Or to being some pg-13 character with no real substance."
Who said PG-13? Did I tell you not to curse? Or did I say to grow up?

Edit: Im done with this for now, I dont feel like joining your petty flame war. Go ahead and continue stroking your egos now, Ill just step back and laugh at your immaturity. I just gotta say, I see Abel as the one on top her eat the moment. Ross, why the hell should anyone pay you to go to them and fight?

The way I see it, Abel has made a clear offer - Ross is often in San Diego for tourneys and Abel has told him to say the date of the next one. There isn't one planned right now, but no doubt there will be one soon.

So, the next time Ross is in Cali, he tells Abel and they meet up. If Abel is ever in NY, he'll do the hooking up.

Sounds to me like Abel is the one offering realistic opportunites and Ross is being a b!tch.

Also, Ross never did answer the questions that were put to him.

So, I say there are two things that need to be done:

1. Ross needs to answer the questions clearly.

2. Ross need to let Abel know next time he is in Cali so they can fight.

Simple really.

I never got that , really.
How am I being immature for asking hard questions and persuing the truth? Is it immature to dare the questions? I don't think so. Some of you are under the impression that all us with a sifu somewhere in there name has to be some budhist ultrapacifist monk that bends over and takes it. When in truth even the monks didn't take it.

Its not a sin to have a passion about something or to express emotion. I'm sorry, I'm not and can never be some sterile shell. It's tough that this may blow the Kwai Chang Kain mystique, but that wasn't suppopsed to be the bible of kung fu.

Ironacally in all this, Ross himself put out a good article on this issue. Go figure.
