The site has been slow recently.

Even if you got the FASTEST connection loading speed will still depend on how fast the sites webserver can send the data to you.
And the transfer speed of anything between you and them.

You might own a road where people can motor at 300mph, doesn't help if the delivery-van can only manage 80mph.

Same even with high-speed connection once too many get on there you get traffic-jams and slowdowns too.

As a general rule the closer you are to the access-point the more speed you will get.

which explains alot for me, because, i have a slower connection here than i have @ home and this site loads much faster for me here.

Yeah, there are also a few other points like Domain-name-server distributions and so on.

If you got a good ISP, you SHOULDN'T set the DNS parameters in your browser.
Those settings can slow things down too.

Best is play around with the settings on and off and see which gets more speed.
