Hi all,

Just a follow-up. While the actual material and presentation methods will undoubtedly be finalized real-time, he are the latest seminar topics.

Seminar Topics: Tin Yan Dei Saam Mo Kiu Concept
(Heaven, Human, Earth Three Connecting Bridge)

1st Topic - the Difference between Dai Sing Tin Yan Dei (Big Wheel TYD) and the Siu Sing Tin Yan Dei (Little Wheel TYD)

This includes the relationship of Chan and Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun Kung Fu in terms of time, space, and energy.

The relationship between Deui Ying (Facing) and Jeui Ying (Pursuing) Concept

2nd Topic - The HFY Chi Kiu Concept which follows kiu sau learning and is a prerequisite for anyone entering the Chum Kiu Level in HFY system

One of the topics to be covered in this workshop is a cornerstone in
connecting Kiu Sau to Chi Sau, called Chi Kiu. Within Chi Kiu there are two
important concepts:

Siu Sing* Tin Yan Dei (Small Dharma Wheel Heaven Human Earth)
This concept expresses the use of Heaven/Man/Earth – the three vertical
reference points – combined with the Kuen Da Saam Gwaan concept (Fist Hit
Three Boundary)

Daai Sing Tin Yan Dei (Big Dharma Wheel Heaven Human Earth)
This concept expands the Siu Sim from the Three Reference Points to the Six
Gates.

Grand Master Gee will continue to solidify, clarify and cover the roots of
the HFY system from the Chan Buddhism point of view.

*Sing, literally means vehicle or carriage – but in a Buddhist context is
translated as Dharma Wheel. The Eightfold path of the Buddha is often
depicted as an eight-spoke wheel. When Buddhism came to China, the term Sing
was used to evoke the same image of an eight-spoke wheel.

Well said Mike. One of the things that I have really enjoyed about Sifu Gee's last few workshops are the multiple layers in the information presented. These layers cover the following progression of understanding:

1. Ying Ga - Shapes (body mechanics)
2. Yi Nim - Meanings (technical knowledge)
3. Lai - Principles (fixed overall truths)
4. Faat - Methods/Concepts

Specifically, the recent workshops have helped me begin to see the HFY system from the perspective of #4 by introducing some of the Buddhist view of reality as expressed by the concepts and methods. I am sure that chi kiu will have this same depth of information. I am really looking forward to it. See you in Dayton...

Though I cannot not attend the seminar, I definitely look forward to learning more about Chi Kiu, Siu Sing Tin Yan Dei & Daai Sing Tin Yan Dei. Personally I thought Kiu Sau was the only prelude to Chi Sau, but from the information I have come across from Sir William and others - this sounds like the most important connection!

Jong Sau -> Kiu Sau -> Chi Kiu -> Chi Sau -> Saan Da...

Hope the seminar goes really well for those attending.
