Hello,

I am looking for info on dantian rotation, and read someone's comment that this karate guy's spinal movement (at the end of this kata) is a form of dantian rotation.

for dial-up people: mms://media.wonder-okinawa.jp/023/n_008e.wmv

for brand-band people:
mms://media.wonder-okinawa.jp/023/b_008e.wmv

so, for those of you who have seen dantian rotation before, does this guy's spinal movement (at the end of the kata) falls under dantian rotation?

Second, does anyone know any video clip of dantian rotation on the web?

third, there's a book and video out on "lower spinal rotation", does this material cover dantian rotation?

thanks

According my teacher every Taiji move should have

-up and down
-forward and back
-weight shift- side to side
-turn of the waist horizontally
-opening and closing of the joints

When you do this your dan tien will start to rotate naturally.

Hi Fu-Pow,

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. The only tai chi I know is the competition wushu taichi form. Needless to say, it is a car with a missing engine, and I am shopping for an eninge.

Can dantien manipulation break someone's joints.Like could you break someone's neck by manipulating your dantien and using full torso power?
