Now that we have our own place to train and no set time to be out, we've re-structured things. instead of lumping beginners and int/adv together all the time, there is a beginner's class. you must be in that class for at least 6 months before you can participate in the other class.

As part of the beginners class, in addition to the bjj basics, they teach basic self defense.

hmmmm, cool.

separate classes allow the instructor to focus on the specific needs of the different levels of students.

my change in venue is allowing me to take the 4 people who have been with me over a year and have a separate class for them. they're excited about it and so am I.

and your thoughts on their basic self defense curriculum is???

MS, you forgot gin.

Gin is nasty...

I prefer Whiskey or Rum.

Absinthe is superior (http://absinth.com/), or so the story goes - I've never had any myself.

Unlikely since you're less than 70 or 80 years old and American by birth.

but, I might be wrong since I'm slinging a factoid around CSN.

I mostly drink beer. And of course water.

But yeah, Oso, you ain't wrong - Absinthe is tough to get and VERY expensive.

That weed-infused vodka does look interesting, although I doubt it would have any effect. Better to just smoke one and throw back a couple shots, I figure.

I'm not a smoker, but if they really did have something liquid with THC..............

btw, just watched a flick that made me think of you, CSN: The Mighty Wind. Damm funny.

nuttin wrong with beer, GDA. Dogfish rocks.

According to the folks I know who indulge in it, connoisseurs of the stuff favor La Fee absinthe. (http://www.eabsinthe.com/acatalog/lafeeabsinthe.htm)

Absinthe is right cheap. You just live in the wrong place. It's probably better for you poor dupes that way :D !!

Absinthe is real bad stuff.

I picked up a load over in prauge a few years ago (the real stuff the locals drink) and it is vile. A tiny amount of the stuff will get you very drunk.

Also there are many storys based around Absinthe, but my favorite one is that the French army had to lower its minimum height regulation as the male population were drinking Absinthe so much it lowered the average hight! Shortly after this it was banned in most of europe.

3 shots of absinth made me halluncinate.

tequilla is superior.

potka works fine. the best stuff is brewed using only stems. if you use the leaf and buds then you have to do a few more steps and extract the pot-paste. I found this recipe on this forum about 3 years ago, try a search.
