You did real well, period! Not bad for accepting to play with Ian Morgan with only 12 hours notice. ANd you guys really did warm up the crowd for the rest of the night

You did stay for the rest didn't you? What did you think?

knee to the gut.... took the wind right out of my sails......

the rest of the night was fun.... the Lebanon v Russia fight was truely a highlight.... the womens fights were awesome and they all showed great skill.... the rexplex is the coolest place on earth... i've been saying that all weekend.... my only complaint is that i wish there was a bigger crowd.... other than the big poster at the Rexplex i didn't see any signage at the hotel or lil ad-cards that we could have passed around at the mall or whatever.............. and i challenge NYKK to paintball next time :D

as for Ian... that kid has mad weapons....

Ouch! I recently had two fights in Denver. In my second fight, I took a throw that knocked all the wind outta me but I took my time getting up & was able to breath by the time the ref said "fight". My opponent liked throwing though so he kept going for it (which took progressively more of my wind to defend against, as well as the fact that we both ended up on the mat a couple times). A knee to the gut would really suck. Better luck next time. T.

being thrown and throwing doesn't bother me too much......

more on the event........ the ref was good... he was like having a coach in the ring.... he makes sure you WORK.... doesn't give much 'breathing' time.... and was always encouraging.. to both fighters...

Good job, man. You'll take it next time. Between you and jow, we've learned that knees can wind you, and axe kicks to the head hurt. Good finds! :D

BTW, I am the king of san da...:D

You too? What weight class? I'm probably gonna fight around 160-165. It would be cool if we went up against each other. At the least, let's go out to the bars and get plowed afterwards.

Well, I carry about 175-180 at 6'0", so I'm thinking I'll fight at about 165. Of course, I wont know for sure until I get some more iinfo from my coach. And that wont be until after his fight on Nov 22.

Does this mean I'll have to drop to 155? :(

D@mn it, I just bought a new suit. Now I'm going to have to go with the belted suspendered look by March. Bollocks.

Just gotta learn how to make it down to 165 for the weigh in, eat a philly cheese steak, and then be 200.

I thought that you could lose 10 lbs. from the weight that you were at last time I saw you....in my non-expert opinion. I think you could lose even more but you'll probably gain some muscle too during your training.

The Crip could lose even more. ~ 15 pounds

Just cut your carbs in half for now (especially in the evening, and no sweets), keep up or increase the protein, and see where you end up?

Crip's in a bind - hard to keep a good diet eating away from home

You calling me fat, Keith? ;)

The Slimming (tremble in fear) has begun. I'm down to about 170-169ish and carrying a lot less fat than I was when I began in August. I don't know what weight I'll end up fighting at, but 155 or 165 would be pretty comfortable for me. If I can keep dropping a pound or so a week, I shouldn't have any trouble making weight.

WD-- I always kinda assumed you'd fight at 165. But I'd definitely talk to Miguel before you decide, as he's semi-pro at this. If you can hang with the heavier guys then go for it (and it'll mean you don't have to give up so much of your wife's delicious cooking) ;). I just know I'll get fed to the wolves at the higher weights.

Of course, your teacher will have much better advice - maybe you should cycle the diet or something. I know it's hard to recover from tough workouts without alot of calories.

Or you could just try ZUMBA!
