different Bagua styles and their characterisitcs

Could someone tell me what the different bagua styles are and their distinguishing characteristics? I only know of YinFu and ChengTingHua styles (lineages) and that the fomer is more striking oriented (due to Lohan influence) and the latter is more throwing/locking oriented (due to Shuai Jiao influence). But I have also heard of Gao style and Liu style, but know nothing about them. Thanks.

I train in Gao style - places a major emphasis on long body training. Some of the things such as one leg power will be found in all styles, but I haven't seen much of the other styles - just Gao.

Wow walter, you sound like a real a$$hole. Good way to make people afraid to ask questions on the forum about something they are interested in. Of course he can do a web search, and im sure he knows how to do so just fine. The fact is he probably wanted the imput of others here on the topic, to have his question answered by a person who can put it all into perspective for him, and to start a conversation. I could be wrong though, maybe he was hoping a ***** like you would degrade him as if part of some masochistic fantasy. Oh well you never can tell.

Wow Vajra, you sound like you're carrying a lot of baggage, hire a porter its cheaper.

I find it amusing that people on the internet will type something and post it when in RL they might think a little deeper before saying it. I would tell him the same thing in RL.

I have to admit I wonder if you met me would you call me what you did.

And btw, I didn't just post the line that upset you so you had to resort to childish name calling.

I spent 20 minutes or so searching the net for the right links to answer his question. And then I offered advice that in principle is an important trait if you want to understand internal arts.

Learn how to find out for yourself, no one can do the work for you.

But thanks for your advice, I'll file it appropriately, under judgmental tripe.

Thanks Walter for the links, but I've already seen them and several others. Doing a search online only really gives me information and lineages and histories for the most part, and video clips I see are forms and I am not well versed enough in Bagua to differentiate one from another. I've only had a personal taste of Yin and Cheng styles and their techniques, and my question was more directed towards people who had a more hands-on experience between different styles of Bagua.

Bagua is bagua. Differences are in the skill level of the individual. If you ask a more specific question, I might be able to give you a better answer.:o
