Hello there,
I have a student who has done taiji for a while. There is an exercise which we do where we stand normally and put our hands out facing each other.
Then we move the hands close together and far apart. When moving close, we use the qi to repell the palms, and when moving apart we use the qi to attack the palms.
A very good exercise for guaging qi.
However, my student, who has never felt his qi, other than heat (he came to me with previous taiji training) has a good qi flow coming from his left hand BUT on his right hand, there is double the intensity, but coming out of the back of his palm, i.e. the wrong direction.
So he can do the exercise and he can't feel his qi. Ironically, he has lots of qi (I can feel it when I check with my palms).
Does anyone have any suggestions on how he can reverse the direction of the qi flow in his right hand?
Thanks
