They found them in Fu Pow's closet. I'd be a bitter, raving lunatic too if this is what I ate.

Fabulous! Thanks for one of THE biggest laughs I've had to date!

Fluffy Mackerel Pudding? WTF?

The GOOD news is that Caucasian Shashlik actually makes sense. Shashlik is a pretty common term for meat on a stick, in the Caucasus mountains. I believe the Armenians use the term. But I've been wrong before...

Well, they can't all be pure horror, like the Rosy Perfection Salad.

Where were Oso and Ap talking about Lovecraft yesterday, again?

Those green hot wrap ups look absolutely appalling.

*off-topic tangent* Either of you have any good salmon recipes? I've been meaning to eat it more, what with it being healthier than most of my other meals, but I'm not big on the fishy flavor. I'm trying to figure out some breading/marinades to minimize that so I'll eat it more often without forcing myself to.

Salmon's not actually that good for you.

Farm raised fish are a mess. Wild fish may have high mercury levels.

isn't that fun?

As it is, I don't like fish, so I'm not a real good guy to ask.

I'm no cook, but my Red Sea Pedestrian heritage and 7 years in Alaska left me with a ****ing obsession with the smoked stuff.

That's why I'm interested in qinna, bjj, and catch wrestling - it's all about the lox, baby...

(I'm very, very sorry)

When I Saw the thumbnail for the Peach Melba recipe, I first thought "Peaches in the shape of a Cheetah? Man, creating that dish will take weight off you!".

Then I saw the full view. It was even funnier! :D

"We don't know who "Marcy" is, only that she thinks "enchilada" is wacky Mexican talk for "**** on a shingle.""

Oh man... funny stuff.

Salmon marinade...

Water, soy sauce, garlic, fresh ginger (lots of it), plum sauce.

don't use too much soy sauce (just enough to make the water look dirty).

I'll marinade the fish and some veggies (squash, onion, shrooms, etc.)

This is also pretty good with Tuna steaks.:D

<gets up, dusts self off, throttles csn by the jowls>

best fishy steak i ever had -- marlin. restaurant in spokane had it one time i was at a conference. *drools*

it's as if a fisherman was using his goodness pole, put the fish in his goodness cooler, fileted it with his goodness knife, and the restaurant cooked it on the goodness barbecue and served it on its goodness platter.

such goodness.

If I'm using my "goodness pole," it ain't going anywhere near a knife.

This looks pretty close to the choicest smoked salmon I had back in Alaska. I guess it isn't technically lox, but it is kosher! And yumlicious.
