Hi,
I am currently residing in Beijing and this Sunday I will start training Shaobeiquan. "Shaobei" stands for "Shaolin Beipai" (Northern Style Shaolin) and is said to be a style very popular in the North-Eastern part of China. The grandmaster of this style, master Zhang, was known together with Wan Laisheng as "Southern Wan, Northern Zhang".
Anyone ever heard about Shaobei? I visited their training ground and the style is great. But although the name of Shaolin is known throughout the world, this particular North-Eastern martial art called Shaobei seems to be rather unknown.
Greetings,
LAV
