whats the story with akuma,
can one of u guys explain this character to me.
I left street fighting alone a long time ago, before he was introduced ...i know it seems horrid the thought.

There are plenty of Akuma fansites that have his life's story. I'll post the first one I come across.

Akuma (Gouki) killed his Master to attain the dark hadou. Or something like that. He then wanders around trying to find an equal. I've found that the story of every SF character slightly changes from game to game, movie to movie. In SF vs SNK2 Akuma turns in to a demi God called Shin Akuma, then in his final battle the whole place explodes and we are left wondering what really happend.

EDIT: Akuma's master was the same master who trained Ryu and Ken.

Apparently, Rugal went and thumped Akuma's @$$, took his mojo, decided to go to town on the player. But, he wasn't pimp-tight enough to contain Akuma's Hadou, Akuma claimed Rugal's body, wandered off to the great no where . . .

SVC Chaos gonna have Akuma?

uuh.. he claimed rugals body? :confused: Was that when he 'hovered above the dark spirals'? (btw wtf was that all about?)

After you defeat regular Akuma, that dark stuff is the evil spirits he released when he learned his Shungokusatsu (dear God, I didn't even have to look that up . . . hangs head in shame). They decided that he didn't get to die, or something to that effect.

As for the claiming of Rugal. After you defeat Ultra Rugal, another voice chimes in, saying "this mind isn't strong enough to contain my power" or something. Then, his appearance changes, and he trudges off. The possession is just what I got from it.

Sounds Like Fun. I think I'm gonna play that on boss challenge mode now.

Except for boss mode. I keep getting to the end, then I get thumped like a cheerleader.

You'd b glad when u have it. It's worth every quid. Great animation, I wished they would make a Street Fighter 4 in the same style, but bring back a more classic line-up.

eerh... :D Without looking at some fan site.. Hmm.. SInce Ryu and Ken is doing Shotokan then Akuma should be doing the same.. Only he focuses on the 'dark side' of the Hadou

I was once talking to a Shotokan Ni Dan, and he said "Shotokan's just two levels below Kung Fu." WTF? I know he's an excellent MA, and he's got 35 years doing the stuff, but I say again, "WTF?!"

Back on topic: still can't find a place to get those statues.

I've heard that once before . . . a Kempo instructor informed me that his style, Chinese Kempo, was only a step or two below Shaolin Kung Fu, and my style was so far gone from Shaolin that it dropped off the map entirely. I said, "Of course it does. It's not Kung Fu. It's karate."

He just said something inaudable, then walked out.

Is Chinese Kempo the art taught to the Japanese and passed down through particular families, or is it the other Kempo?

I think the newest SF art would come from the comic series, they'll probebly release wallpapers and spreads and such. I've come to the conclusion that those Akuma 'statues'/figs must b pretty new so maybe they are just around in Japan.. Soon as I see on I'm buying it

'Kristoffer' would be a mid boss. I don't like how they exaggerates every last boss in sf. Gil is a perfect example of that. (and M.Bison isn't exactly one of the better characters either. Most ppl digs him coz of the retro affection attached)

Not exactly. "Ten" means either heaven] or something along the lines of zenith. Could be interpreted as beyond human, I guess.
