Hello-

I am looking for a good book on the basics of herbal medicine. I have been doing some research and read some things about what herbs to add to certain mixtures for iron fist training, muscle relaxing, healing, and illness. None of what I read had any kind of precautions or side effects. I am looking for a good well rounded compendium. Please if you know of some good literature to pick up let me know. Also let me know your experience with how accurate and how well the information is displayed in the book.

Thanks in advance for any advice given.

"Chinese Herbal Medicine made easy" by Thomas Richard Joiner is a good basic book that is easy to read and a good beginning reference for Chinese herbal medicine.

I don't know if I would call these basic but here you go:

Chinese Herbal Medicine Materia Medica

and

Chinese Herbal Medicine Formulas and Strategies

Both have Dan Bensky as a co-author

These are excellent books when I bought them about 8 years ago. I'm sure alot more has come out since but I've found them to be good.
